Probably the most useless video on YT.
What are we supposed to see without showing your physical input?

Ummm, ok? This isn’t an accurate way to compare your input to on screen movement.

That video doesn’t show anything other than moving your reticle. What you need is a video that shows your button presses at the same time as what’s on screen so the delay can be seen real time.

Ah thank you, i forgot I need proof cuz internet lol. (Please forgive me it’s been a while since I actually cared enough to try anything for this series lol)

I’ll take another vid but with my phone at an angle that can hopefully show my hands and the problem at the same time clearly. I’ll try to take it today but I have a busy week so bear with me please

Regardless of the quality of the video, has anyone else experienced any input lag in general with infinite?

I can’t say I have tbh…or haven’t noticed any at least. A few questions…

What is your current set up? (ie console or PC, and controller or M&K, monitor or TV)

Has this input delay just started happening for you or has it always been like this?

Has there been any change to your set up? (ie console/PC, controller/M&K, monitor/TV and settings on any of these)

Playing on TV, projector or monitor?

Here’s a phone view with my hands (i do hit my movement stick at one point during the video but i mention it)

I’ve been playing on PC, controller, on my laptop screen and no changes to my setup physically or otherwise. Laptop is 2 years old and runs my other games just fine.

The input delay started after the small march update for me.

what’s strange is it doesn’t happen every game either. I had one game where it was godawful and the very next game there was no issue whatsoever. doesn’t seem to matter how long or little i’ve been on playing either as i’ve had it happen my first game of the day, or i can go an entire session without a single problem.

I have tbh…I can’t really tell much when you’re doing fast rotations of the sticks like that. Do you get the input lag when just playing with move, look and buttons…or is it just the sticks?

Have you tested another pad? and is it any better if you have the controller wired rather than wireless?

While I can’t tell anything from this video I have noticed controller input lag as well. Usually when trying to throw a grenade it’ll take up to a full second at times.

So you’re moving your controls faster than the game can move. This doesn’t result to input lag.

I get input lag with all of the buttons, its only most detrimental with the control stick (tho i have been screwed on weapon changing [can delay long enough to register as a weapon drop rather than just a quick change] and late grenades as mentioned below).

The more I experience this the more it feels like whatever input im giving loses connection for less than a second, and the game translates this as me continuing said input. So when i’m adjusting my aim, it will stick in a single direction for however long this lag happens. I can be moving my stick up and to the right, but the hiccup will happen and continue my aim moving up for longer than my input [which is super hard to adjust for cuz i just dont know when it will happen lol].

I haven’t tried another controller (i dont have an extra rn) but i haven’t experienced it on any of the other games I play [testing this includes me spamming the menu button at a constant speed in other games to see if there is any disturbance to the set rhythm as well as playing a couple MCC games on a different computer with the same gamepad)

There is no noticeable difference from wired VS wireless as the problem persists regardless.

also @ItzTheDay i should not be able to move my control sticks with my bare hands faster than any brand new game lmao

I can’t tell what is happening from your videos but I’m not going to dispute whether or not that the issue is happening for you. What I would recommend though is some basic fault finding so the first thing to do is to test with another controller…you basically need to rule out whether your controller is the issue. I play on Xbox so I can’t really offer much advise in terms of settings on your laptop and in game.

I gotcha, I’ll give it a go thank you

No idea what you mean by that, can you explain that a little better?

i have this from time to time and nothing is a consistent fix apart from re-installing the game!

I can tell when it’s happening as evern the menu’s will lag, it’s noticable when pressing dpad or stick up/down.

makes playing impossible as trying to turn\ aim means you wont turn for a millisecond, and then by the time you see a reaction you’ve over aimed by far.

I did notice that when scoping the aim seems to react a lot better, not that it helps much really for general game play.

I uninstalled the game and that seemed to do the trick  imma come back in a year-ish to see what state the game is in

Check the video settings. If the framerate is getting set to a lower number then you’ll have increased input lag. Set it to the highest number available for the most responsive feel.

Ok so I think I have found the fix to my particular problem.

I’ve always used my Xbox controller wired to my pc.

Yesterday no issues, today so many issues that no amount of restarts or shutdowns will fix.

Tried using Bluetooth… And just like magic it’s working.

Maybe it’s a dodgy cable or maybe it’s something else, but Bluetooth is apparently the way forward

I don’t know about your problem, but I do know that i’ll start up a game in halo infinite and my input lag could be at one speed. Then I go into video settings and change a setting and all of a sudden it seems like all input lag is gone and my controls are super responsive. It is always like this and very inconsistent. I don’t know which specific setting I need to start the game like this. But when I boot up the game again it seems like I have to repeat the same process regardless of prior settings. Does anyone know a fix for this???
