I just got done with my 10 games and i just really don’t understand how the rankings work. I went 7-3 and had a 1.8 KD and yet only got ranked as gold 2. I’m not saying that i should be ranked as the best in the world but only gold? What more do i have to do to get ranked as platinum off the bat. Just wondering if anyone else was feeling the same way
It all depends on the ranks of your opponents, how you did, how your team did and how many games you won/lost.
They also made some tweaks to the ranking system for March which actually made it a little harder to place higher initially, more information about that as follows:
> One of the goals of our Competitive Skill Rank (CSR) system is that it reflects the skill range of the active population. At Halo 5 launch, we tuned the designation system based on an ideal skill distribution. Since launch, you all have been putting in the hours and getting better. Starting with the March season, part of our process for season rollovers was to update the CSR curves in each playlist to reflect the actual skill of the population playing in them. With the new skill curves, you may see a difference after your placement matches in some of the playlists this season. Separately, it is worth noting that we’re actively investigating CSR feedback we’ve gotten from players at top skill levels to determine improvements that can be made to the system.

That’s not even close to my 9 wins 1 lose and only got diamond 3. That alone should’ve placed me in onyx. I also went positive every game but one I believe I think I went neg 1 or 2. Last season I won 7/10 and got onyx… basically since the new update and what it says is ur going to get placed correctly based on your skill level. That means 343 is telling me I suck and am not onyx worthy skill. Anyway no matter how many games u win and how good u do individualy I still believe u will be placed lower then what u anticipate.
