What would you guys like to see in the March update?
I would like to see Invasion finally get an update however not with the TU b/c it would actually hurt the gameplay since all of Reach’s mechanics were practically built for this gametype and then transferred to everything else.
What I would like to see is the playlist get a restriction of 2 local players so that we can get quality forge maps. Playing on the same 2 maps over and over is not any fun and not enough people have the Noble Map Pack to play Breakpoint.
That being said I think it is about time Noble Map pack becomes free. Nobody is buying it since it is old news and the Anniversary map pack is better and more recent. Making Noble free will add 2 good maps to all the playlists and another BTB/Invasion map which Reach is desperately needing/severely lacking.
Aside from Invasion I would like to see the TU Beta playlist be put to good use. 343 said they will use it to test future changes but in the meantime I see no harm in using it as a temporary “community playlist” to test forge maps that are being considered for matchmaking.
I would also like to see Squad Slayer become Squad Battle and then that way Team Objective can be finally put out of its misery. 5v5 is naturally more competitive especially since there is no AL. Since it is more competitive there are less guests therefor it is complimentary to have it restrict local layers to 2 and house community maps. Then Team Slayer can be 4 local players and on default maps which compliments the team size of 4 with the local player maximum of 4.
Lastly, it would be nice to see or hear about the race playlist that has been rumored for quite some time. Cartographers are actively testing race maps so it may become a reality.

I second these 2 points.
The OS in Anniversary is not worth the risk of getting 3 shotted for a miniscule buff. Also all the OS gets depleted if you take even 1% fall damage which is total BS.
I would also like to see the spawn zones fixed on Prisoner Anniversary since only half the map is ever used and people spawn at the OS which destroys the concept of map control if people are just given it like that.
-Apply TU to all other playlists that have yet to be updated by the TU. -Take bleedthrough out of the TU.
-Make Arena a different playlist section and move team doubles into the Arena.
-Merge Squad slayer and Team Objective into a 5 on 5 objective focused playlist.
Firefight Changes:
-Create a 4-person firefight playlist with regular firefight settings and NO ARCADE GAMETYPES.
Invasion Changes:
-Take out all maps from invasion that is not Spire, Boneyard, Breakpoint, Hemorrhage, and Paradiso.
-Add Highlands, Breakneck, and Ridgeline.
-Take out all gametypes from invasion that are not Invasion and invasion slayer.
SQUAD DLC: Apply TU settings or remove Armor Lock, this playlist should feel a bit more competitive. Give Invasion Breakpoint a much higher weighting.
BTB: Put Rocket Hogs on Renegade. Increase the weighting of Renegade, decrease the weighting of Hemorrhage, remove Mount Lam Lam and remove Boardwalk. Add some new community maps. Make it so DLC owners are actually matched together, like a separate population within the playlist.
INVASION: Restrict to two players per console so we can add some community maps. Require Noble Map Pack. Apply TU settings.
ACTION SACK: Remove Hockey, HaloBall, and HaloBall Extreme. Put waypoints above the head of anyone with “Heat” in Team Hotshot, like in Power Slayer, or force a color change so people know if they’re powered up.
ANNIVERSARY GRAND TOUR: Create a new 5v5 Anniversary Slayer and Anniversary Objective playlist with maps from Anniversary, Reach, and the other DLC (required).

mmmm absolutely agree on Jetpack and upped movement, iffy on the ZB and removing active camo. Not that I wouldn’t prefer it, but I highly doubt 343 will make such a drastic change.

This would take major testing, testing that i don’t think 343 has time for. If the Arena community cares that much about it, I would recommend getting some players together to modify initial spawns and weapon spawns to balance the maps. Also just the removal of JP almost “fixes” derpflection though.

I’d like to see some new game-type variants for Infection, something like speed demons or creeping rockets from Halo 3, or a classic infection mode, along with some new community maps.
343i basically admitted they are going to segment the reach audience as much as possible. at this point i wish they reverted everything to default Reach.

Unfortunately you may be right. Which is too bad, since the 85% bloom gametype is still garbage, and everybody hates it, vanilla and competitive people alike.

Which is why I suggested outright removal. I know Killer Whale made a thread here a while back calling for Sword Base, Reflection, Cage and something else to just be taken out of arena.
Default Reflection is still bad without jetpack. Balcony team has sniper and rockets on lockdown.

Actually no, I just want it as a custom game option. Outside of annv (which isn’t ZB and doesn’t apply here) and MLG (they do their own testing) there are no powerups in matchmaking anyway.

I don’t like the behavior of the pistol with zero bloom. With such a high rate of fire its too good in cqc… which is too bad. 0% really forces you to aim
