Why is there no thread to discuss the removal of Squad Slayer that is linked? It was clearly a popular playlist among more competitive players and now you have removed it. If you’re going to do this, there will only be more of a cry to remove armor abilities and whatnot from normal slayer. Personally, I think Squad Slayer should have stayed since it was one of the most balanced playlists.

> Two weeks ago you said something about updates to Invasion, and then you haven’t said a word about Invasion for two weeks, what gives? TU would be awesome in Invasion, as would be some community maps.
I’m not sure about the TU in Invasion, but yes that is rather disturbing as well that they answer my question, and I had to say near future as in the next update or two, and say there will be more info soon. Soon??? Like… 3 months from now? Cuz it sure wasn’t in the update I was hoping it would be in. But whatever, I will just be away for the next month or two or three playing a different game that happens to come out the same day this update comes out… hmmm funny that.
Can we agree that the removal of bleedthrough has generally been met with negative reactions?
Squad Slayer removed why this is the best playlist blam
> Can we agree that the removal of bleedthrough has generally been met with negative reactions?
You could say that about the FORUMS, sure, (Hell, I’ve even seen posts on B.net calling “To Waypoint! We must complain until we get banned!”) but I can promise the majority of players won’t even know about this update until it’s done. 10 - 1 they’ll keep playing all the same. (Which is another funny point, most of the people talking about leaving Halo for ever ITT fall into the school of telling people to adapt or find a different game. Finally taking your own advice, eh guys?)
I would like to thank 343.
I would like to thank them for finalizing my decision on not buying halo 4, because they obviously can’t handle maintaining a game like reach, why should i think they could handle maintaining halo 4?
I hope you go bankrupt.
BTb heavies = 200 kill spawn traps for those who don’t search in a party.
have fun being farmed guys.
> Can we agree that the removal of bleedthrough has generally been met with negative reactions?
I think we can.
I will reserve judgment on BTB Heavies…I think it’s likely that it will exacerbate existing problems with the BTB playlist, but in truth there are already plenty of lopsided games caused by the “We are inheritors, we roll eight deep, we will never have -Yoink!-, and we get the biggest kick out of beating people who have been playing for two weeks” phenomenon.
Taking Evade out is a REALLY bad decision. The previous situation was not that great: why was Armor Lock in Slayer gametypes where it only served the needs of marginal players who don’t pay attention to the game and not in BTB Objective where it could at least be used to lock down a choke point as part of a coherent strategy? That said, the new model is worse; Evade in any gametype is one of the purist’s choices (along with Sprint) and can be used for all sorts of interesting plays without fundamentally breaking the “getting shot = damage” model the away Armor Lock does.
With regard to TU vs. Vanilla, I think that TU should be the default setting for all playlists. It’s a bit silly to have a situation like Invasion where later tiers spawn with power weapons and power weapons-lite and still have less effective DMRs and Needle Rifles. If Vanilla Reach fans want their own playlists, let them have 'em - but please make the Reach experience consistent by default:
- TU (default, all playlists INCLUDING the two DLC packs; DLC stuff without the TU makes no sense and penalizes people who want to use those playlists)
- Vanilla (Team Slayer separate playlist plus any other separate playlists with enough devotees to warrant survival)
- Anniversary (TU default settings plus Anniversary additions)
343, if I had the money to get to where you are. I would go there and throw a hateful rock through one of your windows with my reach disk attached to it.
This update is a disaster and you know it. Please tell me you are trolling. Don’t remove Squad Slayer, this will cause a scar in an already broken game.
I really hope you think this through, a lot of people are depending on your actions. Also where is this self-alleged Invasion update? Am I hearing things?
Im on the same page as you man, but lets just deal with it. 343i will give us something in May or June for Reach…at least Im hoping. Free map packs please cough cough I actually play my maps I paid for

Gotta love update bulletins. That’s when the true colors really come out. So 343 did something you don’t like, and you want to put a rock through their window. What are you, 10?
Honestly, Squad Slayer was the only playlist I enjoyed, minus the occasional Team Snipers games.
Why did you go along and remove it?- S.S. was the only TU playlist that didnt have the dreaded AL and then you go ahead and delete it.
Another Great Deduction, Bleedthrough. Honestly, that makes Sprint 10X worse, who needs bullets, when I can run at you and use my AR like a Baseball Bat to your skull. GREAT.
Those who say, “Oh, It’s TU, so AL is like so weak” True to an extent. It’s still there, still a nuissance. It can still block, kill, just like it used to- it just cant take 2 rockets, hopefully.
I’m going to miss Squad Slayer as a place for parties to match other parties with a fairly decent map rotation compared to other playlists and no armourlock. Super Slayer is not an adequate replacement in my opinion as a competitive player.
People are jumping to conclusions on loads of things, just cut it out, they’re doing the best they can. Remember they’re all hands on deck for Halo 4 and are trying to keep the Reach community happy, so what you didn’t get what you wanted, life isn’t fair just deal with it and move on, rather than creating another thread on how ‘343 are ruining Halo’ etc they’ve given you a lot of stuff already and when you get it loads of people complain. Like bleedthrough, loads of people wanted it and then when it was in matchmaking loads of people complained.
I don’t think it matters that squad slayer is gone because not many people played it anyway.

I know you are probably gone already and that you don’t care either way, but with these changes putting us far back from the steps forward that we had already made I will stop playing Reach as long as the playlists and TU settings are messed up.
That is no threat. I realize Reach has a couple thousand players that don’t really even care what they are playing. I’m just saying that I do care what I’m playing and that isn’t Reach after March 6.
I think its a good update,Remember that bungie said 4 weeks after reach released they are going to make BTB heavy gametypes but it never happened. So i am glad 343 finnally update big team. The only thing i didnt like about that is the Headshot bonus points…
