> >Removing Squad
> This was one of the only playlists that was just Slayer that didn’t have Armor Lock that didn’t require super tryhard pants all of the time. Now we have “Super” Slayer, which has Armor Lock in it. You could have solved everything by just adding Super Slayer, and doing nothing else. Everyone would have been happy.
I completely agree with you here. 5v5 Slayer was also a completely niche gametype. It was like the Squad Battle playlist in Halo 3. It offered you a gametype between 4v4 and 8v8 which was a lot of fun. As far as I know, it had an ok population, so that wouldn’t have been the reason it was removed. It just baffles me as it offered completely different gameplay from default and led to many peoples enjoyment.
> >Removing Bleedthrough
> Double melees, slower kill times, and anger, oh my!
However here, I understand why they removed it. Although, I feel if they removed the weapon bleedthrough and kept the melee bleedthrough, both parties would have been happy.
> >Adding Super Slayer
> Adding this playlist by itself would have been fine. Removing other playlists that many people enjoy on a daily basis is not.
Completely agree. Although if they had added it, they probably needed to remove a playlist, as from what I remember there was a vast amount of playlists. Although, they should have removed the playlist with the lowest population.
> >Even bothering with Infection, Grifball, and Action Sack.
> The population for these playlists, excluding Living Dead, is pretty bad, with Grifball just barely squeaking past 2000 players during peak hours, and 1000+ players for Action Sack only really seems to happen during peak weekend hours. I can understand Living Dead, because it’s a thriving playlist, but until you remove both Sword Block and maps like Boardwalk, nothing will change.
They updated Grifball as it is run by another community, sort of like MLG. Infection is also understandable as it is one of the more played playlists. Action Sack completely baffles me as to why it was updated.
> >No Arena/MLG update.
> This should be self explanatory. Without a truly competitive playlist, very decent players will leak out into other playlists and roflstomp little kids, thus decreasing the population even more.
I definitely was surprised by this. Why has there not been an Arena update? So many things have been suggested in these forums, yet it always gets pushed aside. I understand it has a low population, but that would definitely change if they updated certain aspects, for example REMOVING jetpack.
MLG makes sense as to why they didn’t update it. The v7 settings came out I believe 2 days ago. Wait for the next update.
> >Team Obj. 5v5
> If 2 teams are equally matched, that 5th player will make it so much more difficult to actually score a flag cap or a bomb arm. With Squad as hectic as it was, having 10 people fight over a bomb is just ridiculous, and the maximum Ruffgonja will be too unbearable.
I agree, 5v5 objective just does not work, unless it is on large maps. The gametypes were already hard enough to score and cap on as the maps felt cluttered and full. Adding in an extra person is going to completely lopside that and make the gameplay more hectic and frustrating.
> >BTB Heavies
> Great, now I can grind my Downshift commendation on randoms even easier.
I’m glad they added this. Default BTB in Reach was pretty much always the same. Heavies will add a different aspect to gameplay and will probably be enjoyable to say the least.
