There is a march hotfix. I got on for the first time in forever today and to my happiness and surprise, I saw that 343 had a message of the day named March Hotfix, which says something like: we are committed to making halo 5 enjoyable and we are tuning several weapons based on community feedback. It went on to tell me to go to Halowaypoint for more details. I got excited thinking I could tell my friends that halo 5 is back! We can finally use the br again! maybe even the smg or anything other than just the magnum. But to my deep disappointment, the weapon changes are far too small to make me consider telling my friends they even exist in the first place.
Ok, so I know 343i has had lots of feedback from lots of people. And for the most part I’ve kept it to myself. But when I see " We’re committed to providing a fun and enjoyable Halo5 experience…" and “…tuning for several weapons based on player feedback…” I think that they have corrected the damage they have done to the sandbox and we can play halo 5 again. Not that they are stubbornly ignoring the hordes of people who said ruining the load-out weapons to make the magnum the only good thing in the game was a bad idea. Could we just play halo 5 without this stupid randomness?
I play warzone with just the magnum and beat everyone because they don’t know how bad the BR is now. I want to play with the weapons that feel good to fire. If I have a DMR I want to use that thing. If I see a BR on the ground I want to pick it up instead of laughing at it. The magnum was a good weapon before, but now that everything else is worse, why would I put it down? My warzone loadouts consist of magnum, +ammo magnum, tact mag, and H2 BR. No assault rifle, no smg, no dmr, no regular or modded br. Why is it a good idea to come out with an animation pack when the game is still broken??
I’ll be honest I didn’t know if I was going to post this or just delete it and give everyone a break and move on. But I can’t be the only one feeling this way.
TL:DR : The march hotfix got my hopes up, then crushed them. The BR is still trash. The magnum is still the only usable loudout weapon. I want to play halo with my friends again. Looks like Halo Reach will be on the menu.
