Marauders Broken?

This needs to be address!
Since the game has started Marauders have been near useless. So this is NOT a post to kill them. I am very happy to see them have use however this is to the point of Broken.
The Situation:
The main units to kill Marauders are Cyclops, Hunters, Banshee, and Hornets. Lets talk about the out come of these Compositions 1 Marauder vs 1 Cyclops both of which has their tech 3 upgrade shock rounds and thick hide. The cyclops does win but only is left with 15% health(Low Red). Heres the kicker Marauders have splash damage so as the numbers increase it goes more and more in the marauders favor. 30 Cyclops vs 30 Marauders there will be 18 Marauders left and 0 Cyclops. If the Cyclops are Spread out they will kill all but 5 Marauders before they die. Still Marauders win. Hunters are nearly the same result. As for Air units it’s closer but still the marauders win Hornets lose with about 3-4 Marauders left Banshees leave about 8-9 Marauders left. On the bright side Air lvl 3 Beats Marauder vehicle lvl 3 but usually only have 2-4 air units left Banshees still lose just by less. Now back to a bigger problem, your best bet is air vs Marauders BUT Marauders are built in a factory along side reavers making this an easy for the Marauders. All in All there is no viable way to beat Marauders as the game stands right now.
The Solution
Marauders have AoE so putting them to 5 population would be a hit to their effectiveness. Also decrease Damage to air units(this shouldn’t be to much of a problem you can just build some Reavers). As for Hunters and cyclops I do believe this should be close but I suggest a slight(10% or less) nerf to thier damage to anti-vehicle units NOT all infantry JUST Hunters and Cyclops.

Agreed, thick hide marauders are a bit too strong, especially against their counters. I think making them 5pop would be too harsh, but I like your other suggestions.

I fought a guy doing thus last night. My friend stomped his army with 4 Grizzly and a Forge Hog. I’ll try thus out to see if it truly is broken.

I didn’t test them vs grizzlies. How ever in my opinion Grizzlies are bad. Too Expensive and too slow I did beat Isabel tanks in an online match I kept singling out his units and killing the reinforcement keeping his numbers small and his main force could not catch me.

I’d rather nerf Thick Hide, that’s the issue, not their damage.

well actual can be an issue as T2 marauders are nearly useless

It’s especially bad with boundless siphon or combat repair. Yesterday, I watched Deci’s marauder health go up instead of down while getting hit by hornets.

This was brought up pretty heavily (with a video) in another thread recently. So, hopefully, it’s a top priority for the next patch.

quick answer no marauders cant heal for crap

And I don’t dissagree with you I would be fine with maybe even a big health nerf with damage buff. just not a buff vs air that would be silly

Do this by taking some of the health they gain from thick hide and giving it to them at the start. The goal should be to make them worse at T3 (obviously) and make them more viable at T2, comparable to the warthog. Marauders should be slightly better than warthogs at every phase of the game.

Perhaps add T3 vehicles to that list of no damage buff against. T3 vehicles need to do more damage across the board, and should be beating warthogs/marauders pretty easily. Give people a reason to build T3 units.

I think tanks and Wraiths need more damage overall. Buildings especially, but to other units as well. Significantly reducing marauder health while buffing their damage towards everything except AV/air should do the trick. Pair that with other balance changes across the board (like stronger tanks) and they’ll be in the right spot.

As I told carnage last night those were only T2 non thick hide marauders. I’ve plowed through grizzlies with fully upgraded marauders before. They are too tanky when fully upgraded. Siphon/boundless siphon and combat repair makes this even worse. The only thing I’ve seen able to combat these things are colossus.

Ok thanks. I just wanted to get back to “fixing” marauders.

Anyway a nerf to thick hide would probly do it just fine, they dont do to much damage…just super super tanky
