maps you want to disappear...

There are some maps that I really wish could just go away. That are absolutely horrid. This is my list of three.
1)Countdown
2)Treasury
3)Anchor 9

Now what are yours? I assume there has to be some map that you dislike.

I really despise Uncaged. I’m normally a very calm (but very animated :P) guy on XBL, but that map really makes me want to punch a baby.

Uncaged. Sword base.

That’s about it. There’s nothing absolutely terrible about the other maps, and they can be easily fixed with spawn and weapon adjustments. Except Asylum, which we need Refuge for, but I wouldn’t want it gone considering it’s one of the few “okay” maps Reach has.

Uncaged, i never enjoy it in any game-type, but especially not in infection !

Boardwalk, again i never really enjoy playing on this map, no matter what the playlist or game-type.

Asylum also gets on my nerves, but it is good for certain game-types, like assault, i hate it in SWAT though !

Boardwalk, Reflection, Zealot. Why?
Boardwalk: I just dislike the way the map is set up. People like to fight more or less in one area, which is the center balcony where Sniper spawns.
Reflection: Other than the fact it’s one sided? Everyone fights for the top hallway and CAMPS there.
Zealot: For smaller based team play, I wouldn’t mind it, but when Snipers gets picked, it sucks. Multi-Team on that map is a disaster.

Those are my thoughts on those maps.

HemmoRAGE (BTB slayer only)
Boneyard (BTB)

But the 1st 3 are so far and away worse than the others it’s beyond belief.

PS- why do people dislike Countdown?

You know, I think countdown would be a decent map if they just got rid of the shotgun and sword. Same goes for sword base. Those weapons just encourage people to camp lifts. The problem with Halo: Reach maps is they weren’t built with competitive play in mind. Even the forged maps still don’t seem to understand that maps need to be balanced with decent spawns.

Anyway, there are some maps that spawns and weapon placement would not fix.

  1. Uncaged/The Cage. All the action is focused in small walkways, making it very difficult to avoid grenades or other explosives. It also eliminates strafing.

  2. Reflection. No matter how you modify it, action will always take place on the top hallways. As it stands now, Reflection favors one side upon starting the game. A player can quickly grab the rockets while another jet packs onto the top of the lift to get the sniper. The other side cannot get to the rockets as quickly because they can’t sprint to it as they aren’t on the same level. Sure you can use the jet pack to get to the middle area, but you will still be slower to it than the guy with Sprint. If you’re lucky, you can get to the sniper faster but you probably won’t be killing the player who grabbed rockets.

There are various BTB maps that need to get the axe. I don’t think the map makers took any time to test their maps. Honestly, some of them are far too easy to hide/escape from.

You know, with Forge you can edit any map to your liking?

And boneyard. Half of this map gets zero play, makes no sense to me.

I hate Boardwalk in TS. I’ve had a LOT more fun playing it in BTB. IMO too big for 4v4.

Uncaged…one of the worst maps I have EVER played. Jet pack ruins it even more.

Thats all I can think of right now. IDK why ppl don’t like Countdown or Zealot though.

I don’t play MLG but they got some things right with that map. I abuse Shotgun badly on both maps and frankly it isn’t how the game should be played.

meh… I’m generally fine with the built in maps. They’re not the best the series has seen, but I’m ok with them. Boardwalk might be alright without jetpack and sword base might be ok without the sword and shotty (well, maybe shotgun moved so its not so close to the lift room.

Boardwalk is generally in a lot of playlists that it shouldn’t be in. 4v4 slayer/objective matches take forever. Its generally the slowest map, it doesn’t flow well either.

Other than that I really don’t have any huge qualms with it. 5v5 plays wonderful on the map without JP.

Sword Base usually ends in a stand off. That is if blue team can actually get into a good position.
Different spawns and different weapon spawns would really help this map. Maybe even some editing to make the level flow better instead of ending in a stand off.

I don’t see why everyone hates uncaged when our hatred should be directed to countdown and boardwalk, and beside who’s smart idea was to put boardwalk in BTB
