Maps you Missed the Most/Least?

Not exclusive to skill, but your tactics, planning, etc…

Epitaph

Granted it isn’t best with every gametype variation, but I’ve gained my Close-Quarters offensive on Epitaph. Visually it’s breathtaking.

Cold Storage

Ugh, while I won’t deny its Machinima potential, Cold Storage never really felt like a competitive map. This is just my square opinion though - I’m sure someone will disagree…

Sandtrap, for both multiplayer and custom lobbies I’ve been fortunate to find.

I miss Guardian the most (used to love Lone Wolves on that map), and probably Cold Storage the least (could never get my head around the layout of that one).

LOVE Cold Storage, probably one of the better remakes. Standoff is a good one too.

Despise Snowbound/Boundless and any other variation of it.

I love maps like The Pit, Guardian, Black Out, and Cold Storage. Of the bigger maps I love Avalanche and Valhalla.

Maps like Vessel (Forge) and Assembly is my least favorites. Vessel is an unfair map from the ground up, as the host always spawns first, he will then proceed to get the OS and later rocket, dominating the beginning in a doubles game. I was really hoping it would get removed from matchmaking.

Most Personally Liked:
Guardian
It was the map I chose to make my Special Edition map. I do one for each Halo from Halo 3, to Reach, to 4. Whichever map is the most iconic and has the best layout in the game, I make a SE of it that has all the weapons and equipment in the game carefully and thoughtfully placed in it. Except the Rocket Launcher in 3 and Reach. Screw that ****ing gun.

Most Personally Hated:
Valhalla
First, let me make one thing clear, I actually at least kinda like any map in Halo 3. Every one of them. And Valhalla is no exception. But you guys made me pick so, Valhalla it is. Why? Because I hate wide open spaces where I can get pegged so easily and this map is picked for pretty much all team games.

I’d have to say I miss Epitaph, Avalanche, Rat’s Nest, and Standoff the most.

I DON’T miss Construct. At all.

Actually, I just remembered. I like Construct a lot.

I guess Foundry I don’t miss? I never cared for it that much.

Loved coming back to Construct, Guardian, Epitaph/Epilogue and Standoff.

Hated playing on Snowbound/Boundless, Isolation and Narrows (those damn spawn points).

I miss Epitaph in swat and also miss sandtrap,Avalanche, pit, snowbound

Don’t miss Narrows just something about that map I didn’t like.

I’ll give my top 3 and bottom 3. The bottom 3 were hard to choose because the maps in this game are just so damn good.

Top

[/li]- Guardian - The Lockout of Halo 3 in my mind. Asymmetric, great sight lines, multi-leveled, and aesthetically pleasing. Often a favorite for Team Slayer.

  • Construct - Name of the game: hold the top. There are multiple ways up, and the outcome game often hinged on how effectively your team could use them. I also love the open feel of this map.
  • Sandbox - That sunset… need I say more? This is here because it essentially set the foundation for future forge worlds and introduced a great deal of unique community maps. Favorites of mine often include the ones built in the sky. The default map is fun to play on as well.

Honorable mentions: The Pit, Narrows, Sandtrap

Bottom

[/li]- Blackout - A remake that did not do its predecessor any justice. Many jumps were removed, including the ledges on doorways that allowed players to jump from S1 to S2. The window in the library was also removed. A good try, and a good map, but it’s in my bottom 3 for Halo 3.

  • Assembly - While I like the art style, this map just always seemed to be too cluttered. It’s easy to fall off the bridges in a firefight, and on the bottom level, I would often get caught on geometry when attempting to strafe, putting my avatar at a temporary standstill.
  • Citadel (least favorite) - I don’t know what it is about this map but it never really seemed to do it for me. Players seem to be funneled to the outside edges with movement through the middle appearing very infrequently.

I honestly love pretty much every map in this game. My favourite map to come back to was for sure Guardian. Just such a great map! The one map I have to say I am not a fan of is Epitaph. Just don’t like it one bit.

S1->S2 is still there. It’s just moved and it’s a lot harder to do.

High ground and Foundry can kill themselves. Stoked on everything else

Most: Construct, Guardian, and the REAL Pit.

Least: Snowbound and Isolation

> High ground and Foundry can kill themselves. Stoked on everything else

I swear, High Ground is the only map I had a rambling conniption fit about… Not within my own head of course.

Citadel is another map that’s more visually appealing than fun to play in. Chalk it up to being the most cookie cutter map, Action Sack gives Citadel life but that’s not enough.

Really missed Construct.
Really didnt miss, snowbound or any othey maps that are short on BR’s.

Also missed heretic/midship, the pit, nerrows, guardian… good times…

I just need Sandtrap.

Favorite: Valhalla
This map is fun to snipe people in the base and to spartan-laser banshees. While sometimes people can be really noob and just get in the banshee all game, it’s still really fun. Also, getting in vehicles is fun just to get a few kills before getting hit by vehicle destroying weaponns.

Least Favorite: Construct
This map is very campy. Seriously. Everyone just camps at the lifts and sword you. If their in a certain spot, you can’t grenade them either. Also, one side has a very big advantage, like Guardian, because their closer to the energy sword. A lot of people like this and I can’t see why…

lmao dude I agree, Valhalla was an ok map but my least fav in halo 3, then halo 4 remade it and it was far the best map in that game, halo 4 maps just didn’t do it for me

Maps I miss the most: Valhalla, Avalanche, Sandtrap, Guardian, & Standoff. Narrows was pretty alright too.
Maps I miss the least: Isolation, Epitaph, & Ghost Town.
