What do you think?
No. That would simply be too big. Maybe within a forge world, but that’s the limit.

You could have barriers for matchmaking and open space for whatever.

Agreed on this. It would be fun but far to big for Halo.
What do I think? Well, if there was no fall damage, trick jumpers would love it. But on a more serious note, I don’t think it would work very well. The map would just need to be too big for the player to not see untextured terrain from any location. Unless of course they used procedural generation to produce the enviroments. Anyhow, I don’t see it happening. And what would it’s purpose be anyway?

Yeah now that I think of it, the processing power would have to be enormous.
For it to work, I believe player count would need to be increased, and it would probably work if it was from the surface of a moon or asteroid into space, not from a planet itself.

I don’t know its just that months before Reach came out I had a dream of this crazy map with a space station, and a planet below where you could only go to one ground location/military base.

Not exactly enormous, just too much for the 360. Just Cause 2 did it with worse graphics and smaller scale. It’s technically possible with what we have now, but comes with a lot of compromises. Therefore it’s not a very good choice.
It wouldn’t work at all. Halo would need to be a game like Battlefield, or Star Wars Battlefront for it to work right.

And with the 16 players the environment would be too big. But adding more detail to the sandbox we have now so that the areas we can play in are bigger then yes. It will give the community more to explore in Halo’s sandbox

Maybe woth Halo 5 and the Xbox 720 lol

Unless Halo 5 has a max player count of 32-up, and maps the size of Battlefield, and Battlefront. It’s not going to work.
No thanks.
But, if there was a drop-pod transition in an invasion gametype, (E.G, the Spartans on the attacking side enter in drop pods.) I would gladly welcome it.
That’d be cool. SW Battlefront III was going to have it, so I don’t see why Halo couldn’t do it.
That would be awesome. You would be able to have more players, multiple fighting fronts, and maybe go back to land in a ODST pod
maybe for a next gen Halo game, but still doubtful in my eyes
oh and there is a 16 players limit so it would be interesting but you wouldn’t be able to find anybody
