Maps being revoked

Ok so im a little scared. I downloaded the. maps and it took the usual 800 MP.
Now what im scared of is what if the maps get deleted on the accout that acctualy had to buy the maps and we have to buy again.

Well, MS claims that those who bought it wouldn’t be affected.

But since they lied about us free adopters getting to keep them, I can’t take anything they say at face value anymore.

If you paid for them (either directly or via Map Pass), you should not get them revoked.

Then again, this is Microsoft/343i we’re talking about here, so no guarantees.

That is what I’m betting on happening. I’m sure there is some really advanced technology at work here to determine who got it for free and who paid for it, but I can’t help but think that there is no way they are going to get past this without cheating people out who actually bought it.

Since Microsoft handles all Xbox Live Marketplace transactions, I doubt 343i will do anything about revoking map packs…because they don’t have that ability.

Microsoft can surely see if you spent money on a map pack. i doubt, that they will pull yours

I just wonder how this will be handled. How are they going to know who bought the maps legitimately and who got the “free trial”.

I’m playing psychic on this one. Watch them screw up again and take everyone’s map pack away. I’m calling it now. Just watch. Those people that have the limited edition and map pass are going to get screwed over again. Just watch.

I bet we will see some people even try to fake that they had the maps taken away. they’ll ask for compensation or a refund instead of the maps themselves. be on the look out

I bought the map pack at 800 points, so if microsoft takes my map pack away, they are in for an earfull…

Gez I hope not, being a LE buyer.

I have faith that microsoft will handle this the right way.

They keep extensive records. It’s probably frightening how much they know actually.

You’ll be able to keep the maps. They know who paid and who didn’t, and they know who put in a code from the Map Pass or the LE.

It is 343is fault because the glitch only happens in the in-game transaction screen, not through the dashboard.

But 343i is part of Microsoft so I guess it is both their faults.

I bought the LE but if they make a mistake and take off my dlc I will sell my copy. And I love halo 4 I like the game. I trust they won’t mess up, but damn they keep making mistakes lately. So I won’t act surprised if my maps dont work on that day.

This.

If you paid for them, they won’t be revoked. Even Microsoft wouldn’t make an error that big… I don’t think.

Anyway, don’t worry. You’ll be good.

So the lack of specialization codes and now covering up a systematic error isn’t big, even though they said via Twitter it was on their end and it’s ours?

My prediction for next week; maps are revoked, play population drops drastically in MP, people complain on Waypoint, Xbox, and Xbox’s support team won’t know what is going on so they send people here giving them the runaround.
