I didn’t say they would stop, it might just discourage them. I’ve already heard of some of the bigger forgers getting their maps stolen. I wouldn’t stop i fI was a big forger getting my maps stolen, but I’d be a bit mad that people would get credit for my work.

Which is exactly what they’re doing. Popular forgers are ceasing to create maps because every -Yoink!- is stealing their creations and passing them off for their own. It’s not petty. If you put days into creating something you deserve the credit not some -Yoink!-

Yep, this is exactly what’s happening, and it needs to be stopped.
Again, this is a pretty big problem. I think 343 should get a solution for this as soon as possible.

This is an issue because from what I saw and heard that any jerk youtuber can just grab your map and post it knowing its someone’s else’s work yet they could pass it off as theirs. Don’t know what 343i was thinking, actually most of their decisions are questionable.
I understand this completely even though I don’t forge a lot. I know people put lots of time into maps and many in H3 enjoyed being recognized for their work. The best way to prove it was yours was usually to hide a signature somewhere in the map that only you could point out, therefore if you ever had to prove it’s yours, you’d be the only one to know where it is.
Please 343 add a “True Creator Tag” as soon as possible!
Unless you’re a big forger, no one is going to know your map even exists. I made Citadel and Valhalla on a separate gamertag so they wouldn’t be stolen in progress. If they are in progress and would like for them not to be stolen, take progress pictures so you can back up a claim that it’s yours. Also posting on forgehub about what you’re doing is a good way of staying safe aswell.
I’ve only heard a single case of this occurring so far so I doubt it’s wide spread or ever will be.

I fail to see how this is an issue, let alone one that requires 343’s attention.

Small things? These really good maps don’t just show up in a matter of minutes. In most cases they do take days, or even months to create. If I were going to invest that kind of time just to have my creation jacked, screw it. Not worth it.
Most people come from a background where they are recognized for their work.

Anything made in Forge is the property of 343i and Microsoft (Terms of Service is a nice read while on the toilet)
I’m sure if they wanted to give credit (and they do) they are able to see the original creator based on save files
