Map Test Session - 10/14/11

Hey guys,

So, as you might be aware, it’s kinda hard to get the maps we work so hard and seriously on tested properly. And even then, sometimes the testers don’t leave very good feedback. Well, if you’re serious about your map and want it tested appropriately with accurate feedback, then you should be willing to do the same for others.

Here’s what I propose:

If you have a map you want seriously tested, post a link to another thread that has the map details and a few screenshots (i.e. ForgeHub, or another site). On THIS site, below your link, post the number of players required/desired and a maximum of THREE (3) gametypes you want tested.

Did you get that? Here’s an example:

> Map name and link to map
> number of players needed
> gametype 1
> gametype 2
> gametype 3

Now, by posting here, you commit yourself to testing not just your own map, but everyone else’s maps as well. This means that if everyone in the Reach lobby had posted a map, you’ll be committing to playing on and leaving valid feedback for 16 maps. Also, if you’re just looking for a Custom Games lobby, you can join up, too. Just please stick around until the session is finished.

RULES and RESTRICTIONS:
I know, I know. But there needs to be a few.

1.)No Gimmicky Maps - maps like “super-slide” and “fat kid” and “tetris” will not be allowed for review. This is for serious reviews. However, Race maps and Infections maps (Any map that uses an Established Gametype, essentially) is acceptable.

2.)No Griffball, Hockey, Soccer, etc.

3.)Extreme Custom Gametypes are not permitted. All maps must use default gametypes that can be found in matchmaking. Exceptions to this are changing loadouts and other settings that fluctuate in matchmaking. [Time Limits/ shields and health / Damage modifiers and such are OFF LIMITS!]

4.)Invasion stage time-limits MUST BE LEFT AT 4:00 minutes each! No half-hour long Invasion rounds. Nobody wants to play that. Nobody.

5.)Your Gametypes and Maps must be ready and included in your FileShare BEFORE you enter the game lobby. The Party-Lead will not be given to any players and will remain under my control. When it comes time to review your map, you will tell me which map and gametype (both in your fileshare) you wish to play.

6.)After each game, there will be a brief respite while organizing for the next game. During this time, Players will (calmly and logically) provide their feedback in (hopefully) an orderly manner.

7.)Maps will be played in the order they are posted here on this thread.

8.)In order for your map to be accepted, you MUST have a dedicated thread about it SOMEWHERE, and link to it. There should be at least one (1) screenshot of your map. Weapons List and Vehicle List is STRONGLY encouraged.

9.)For team-Based games, if you don’t cooperate when the teams are forming, and/or change teams during the game, you will be removed from the lobby and barred access. Also, your map (if you posted one) will NOT be reviewed. … and we’ll all say bad things about you here on the Waypoint Forums. :stuck_out_tongue:

10.)If the lobby starts to “fall apart”, or we don’t get enough posts/players, the entire event will be called off at my discretion.

That’s all. I’ll provide a list of names and links to each person’s respective map here in the OP as they come. Remember, First come first serve.

Map: High Ground Project V1.4
Players: 6-16
Gametype 1: Team Slayer (BTB, if possible)
Gametype 2: 1 Flag CTF
Gametype 3: Assault

Due to the obvious lack of interest, I’m canceling the session, in case any of you thought about joining.
