It has come to my attention that many maps are not included in playslist such as Team Slayer and SWAT. I do not understand the decision behind this. There are few maps that I simply dislike. Most maps are great, but it gets old playing the same group of 5 maps everytime I want to play. I know I’m not the only one with this issue.
I propose a couple solutions.
Add more (all the original) maps back into the ranked team Slayer and SWAT playlists. This adds variety and enjoyment to all who play.
Add all the maps to the social Quick Playlist and add a SWAT social playlist and have it include the larger variety.
I love playing Halo 5 multiplayer, but I’m getting tired and burnt out of never playing (or hardly playing) on the maps I really enjoy. (Tyrant, Molten, Torque, Overgrowth)
If we can’t receive a fix for this problem, can we at least have an answer to why? I don’t want to stop wanting to play Halo 5 for this type of reason.
I think this was addressed several months ago when they changed up the maps for ranked. Unfortunately, all your favorite maps were removed from Slayer. They did add 3 new maps and made changes to Mercy. I think all those maps are still in Super Fiesta. As far as quick play, it only has the 3 maps and is designed for new players. To allow new players a chance to learn just a few maps and how they work before jumping into the other game modes. Although, most people use it as a warm-up.
As far as your thoughts on the changes/additions to the playlists I don’t know big the current population will support those changes. I figure we will be getting less options going forward not more. They have discussed removing BTB or changing to Super Fiesta BTB in February. Depending on how it does this winter.
I don’t know if it’s possible, but I wish they could have an option of playing ranked games without the rank. Maybe make the ‘punishment’ for leaving if you choose the social option severe (immediate ban?) So that people that chose ranked aren’t so negativity affected by players leaving. Basically, if you pick Slayer from the ranked playlist it is just like now. However, if you pick Slayer from the social playlist it will actually match you in the ranked games (still based on your MMR for a balanced game). If you try to leave you get a message that you will be banned from all arena games and confirm you want to leave. At the end of the game those that played as social will have a instead or bronze/silver… The benefit being that more people would be picking the same playlist increasing the player count. Maybe you want a couple of warm up games before going into ranked. Maybe you want to play with a friend that is much better or worse than you and don’t want your rank to suffer so you can play with your friend.
Now you’re assuming I care about ranked to the point I need warm-up games. I can’t get behind a ranking system that lowers my rank because my team lost even when I was the top player on both sides. But when I don’t play well and my team still wins, my rank goes up, and not proportionally. I have felt the ranking system has always been mishandled from the beta. They did improve it, but then they started resetting it all the time. Every month for awhile. Now every 3-4 months. I don’t care about my rank. I care about having a good solid game (where people don’t quit, or if they do to allow for drop in so the game isn’t ruined by people leaving. (Which happens constantly)
I know wanting more options is a long shot, but does 343 really expect me to want to play Fiesta all the time? No thank you! I love Slayer and I love SWAT. That’s all I want most of the time, and I want the ability to play on the maps I love (and maybe avoid the ones I hate or am simply tired of)
Having a map inclusion option would be ideal. Like in MCC with choosing the different games. Instead let me select to include which maps I have the ability to play, and deselect those I want to avoid. Might increase search times, but I’ll take that sacrifice to not get stuck on those maps I hate or am burnt out on.

Unfortunately the maps you listed as liking are generally disliked by the community. AdditionallyAdditionally maps were taken out if rotations because they performed badly within the list. Slayer and swat have the vast majority of the maps in the rotation. Quick play is used to get new players into the game and throwing twenty plus maps at them will just lead to confusion and frustration. Addition an additional SWAT playlist hurts population and doesn’t perform well enough to warrant it.
Tyrant and molten are in FFA and doubles pretty commonly. Torque is in slayer and FFA commonly. Overgrowth is a terrible map for ranked as has been taken out of ranked play specifically for that.
I also miss the maps listed, put them all in the rotation and give us some variety. The only new map I like is Refuge, I think the other 2 new ones are horrible
Yeah it would be nice to have a social Slayer with more maps than quick play, but I understand that because of the population we cannot have that many playlists. It’s just I understand the logic of wanting a quick play playlist for new players to learn on, but to me quickplay seems more try-hard than ranked a lot of times and I think that is because there are only 3 maps so everyone playing on them knows exactly what they want to do and where the best sight lines are. Really feel it is better suited as a warm up to ranked due to this and not a place to learn the game. If I were showing someone new to halo 5 the game I would pick super fiesta for them to play just because they could live for long enough to recognize where they are being shot from.

I haven’t seen Tyrant and Molten for months in FFA and they were solid maps for the playlist.
FFA from my history this Season - Eden, Truth, Mercy, Fathom (meh), Regret, Coliseum, Empire, Stasis, Torque (shudder), The Rig.

I legitimately don’t remember the last time I played on Molten. I would love to see that map again.
It would be nice to have an up to date of list of what maps appear in what playlists currently, sort of how MCC does it.

You shuddered and said meh to 2 of my favorite maps. Admittedly maybe if I played them as often as I played plaza, truth, or Eden, then I’d grow to dislike them too. I really don’t feel like any maps are very bad (except Russett), but when I feel like I only play 3-5 maps over and over, I grow to just want something different.
I had another post suggesting that the map Rotation be a choice by the players. That would prevent you from playing maps you dislike, but still have a potential to allow me to play them. (Depending on other players who are also willing)
I know this more about Halo 5, but my friends and I who play Master Chief Collection have the same problem. We enjoy Halo 2 and 3 most. We love a handful of maps and NEVER see them. We usually play a couple hours every week, so we don’t play that much but enough where we should see different maps. Like other comments in this post we are tired of playing the same 5-6 maps even thru 2 or 3 games, that being Halo 1 , 2, and 3. We like the idea of selecting different options for play style. The selection of map, or a group of maps, would really help.
I’m not really looking for replies, just want to get my voice out there about the lack of map rotation through out other games.
