Map Remake To Come With Halo 5

Every Halo game has had at least one remake from a previous Halo game on disc the day the game released.

Halo 2 had Beaver Creek (Halo CE’s Battle Creek) and Coagulation (Halo CE’s Blood Gulch)

Halo 3 had Last Resort (Halo 2’s Zanzibar)

Halo Reach had Reflection (Halo 2’s Ivory Tower) and Forge World remakes such as Hemorrhage (Halo CE’s Blood Gulch), Pinnacle (Halo 2’s Ascension) and Asylum (Halo 2’s Sanctuary)

Halo 4 had Ragnarok (Halo 3’s Valhalla)

(Of course, other remakes were made later on in DLCs)

So my question is, which map do you want remade to come on disc for Halo 5 when it releases?

My choices would probably be Sandtrap, Guardian, Terminal or Containment.

What would yours be?

My number one would be Sandtrap. The amount of amazing Custom Games I played on that map surpasses anything from Reach or 4 (Minus Forge World). Plus, the Forerunner theme would make sense in this saga.

Second would be Terminal.

Chiron TL-34 or Uplift.

But mainly Chiron TL-34.

My number one picks are Sword-Base or Water-Works.

My opinion on remakes is, there shouldn’t be remakes of remakes of remakes.

If it’s never been remade then it’d be okey.

It was a brute theme

I want to see a remake of Rat Race. A map that has not seen a remake yet despite being one of my favorite maps of all time.

It might be a little hard because in Halo 1, Rat Race relied on Shooting powerups down, but I think there could be a way to emulate that type of gameplay in current Halos. Might need to make another route to cave for the map like a lift from bottom red to OS.

I would love to see how the map plays though, especially for KOTH and Extraction. Maybe even oddball.

Another map I want to see return is Turf. It was a map that was mad fun to play because of the fact that half the map is long range and the other half is short range. It had a rather unique style of gameplay that I rather miss.

Construct would be good as well, though I don’t think it would play well with sprint and jetpacks. Would kind of ruin the whole dynamic of the map’s top to bottom and gold to lobby gameplay.

If 343i actually goes through with making a Halo game that goes “back to basics”, there’s only one map I would definitely like to see in Halo Xbox One:

Guardian.

Terminal, It’s great for most gametypes and is one of my favorite Team Snipers maps.

Relic, Hand’s down one of the most interesting one sided objective maps ever.

Waterworks, I love BTB and I love maps with interesting themes. I believe if Waterworkds were to be remade it would look incredible.

Guardian, the only map from Halo 3 that I would want to see remade. It has many similarities to Lockout and that’s really what I like about it.

Containment, yet another BTB map that would look amazing if updated.

Any of those 5 and I’ll be happy. Terminal is what I really want though.

I think Zanzibar/Last Resort is a must.

Honestly think we should have 10 new maps and 10 remakes.

MAPS AT LAUNCH:

I think Halo 5 requires about 20 maps at launch will be sufficient.
Map Types Required for Launch:
6 Small
6 Medium
6 Large
2 Very Large (Forge World Size)

And Fire Fight Maps to work with Match Making maps. Not to be new maps.

This may seem to be many maps, and a lot of work for 343i, but if half of these maps were evolved remakes of the best Halo maps. Then the hard work is already done. This would give Halo 5, 10 new maps and 10 remakes. Even 5 new maps and 15 remakes would be great.

Player Increase to 32, for Massive BTB and evolved Invasion/Dominion Playlist.

I’d like a remake of Sandtrap, but were you can go all the way to the big towers without getting killed by the Guardians. Maybe if they removed some of the sand they could put some more buildings there. Just a thought.
Actually I think i read somewhere that Sandtrap were supposed to bigger but they had to make it smaller for some reason. Not sure if this is true.

Or a remake of Guardian. Me and my friends had so much fun on that map playing koth.

I want something really classic, but not too much. So I say, my favorite map from Halo PC: Gephyrophobia.

Just because past titles had map remakes doesn’t guarantee that this one will have a map remake.

There are a lot of maps I would like to see be remade, but I would like to know how the game would play before making my decision :slight_smile:

The map was set on a Forerunner Installation, surrounded by massive Forerunner towers, and dotted with Forerunner structures half buried in sand.

The only part of the map that had anything to do with the Jiralhanae was a crashed Phantom and a clear engagement with the UNSC Aegis Fate hovering above the map. That’s it. The rest is Forerunner.

While I’d prefer that Halo Xbox One focuses on creating new maps that adhere to arena style structure, the only map that I’d like to see remade would be Haven.

Haven was a great map and was certainly worthy of a remake.

It highly depends on:

  1. What mechanics Halo 5 utilizes.
  2. How good the forge/map editor is.

Until I knew those things, I wouldn’t know what to pick for a remake.

Given the amount we know about the next Halo (nothing), its hard to determine which maps would fit. That being said, if I had to pick, I would like to see the following return in some capacity:

Boarding Action
Burial Mounds
Guardian
Rat’s Nest
Countdown
Breakpoint

Following the pattern of remaking a map from two games back, I’d have to ask for a remake of Countdown. It is a very versatile map, it is symmetric and it was supported by the competitive community. Another map I wouldn’t mind seeing remade is Imago.
