why is it so hard to get your map seen?
Because few people actively look for them.
It should be easier now that there’s a File Share, but the same issue has presisted for years. An overwhelming amount of content avalable from people means everyone gets a little bit less attention.
You might wanna do a YouTube video/submit them to a larger channel like ForgeLabs.
It’s also a long process to be noticed. After you have finished your map you have to work like crazy to get people to see it. Play customs with friends, get friends to play with other people on the map, promote it on forums, yt, Twitter, fb, submit it to the cartographers if possible.
Yes i get that there but should at least be a section in the forms that allows you to post a explanation of the map the title and a screen shot and categories for the maps.

There are several Forge websites that you can post your maps with a description, screenshots, and map categories. The forge website I use is Forge.World, but there are others.
it takes work to get your map out there. I personally play mine in as many lobbies as possible. When it’s at a point I like I post it on forgehub. I used to contact every youtube channel even the very very small ones. Eventually a few of my maps took off and people like them. If you build good maps and put in the effort to sell your map they will notice. All too often forgers expect players to come to them, but that’s not at all the case, more now then ever without a proper in game file share
