Yea, and it’s stupid. I’d rather the team work on actual game content that matters, not cheap -Yoink- filling. I don’t know if it would work or not, but yea, I’d rather one map to 30 new armour pieces.
The new armor would only show up on your player when you played on the on the new maps that have the armor built in. Unless they did another TU to include the new armor in all previous maps before the new DLC, no, it would not work.
You know, I actually don’t want more armor. I think 343i should introduce ARMOR MODIFICATIONS (once again, that DON’T act as perks and affect gameplay). Similar to what reach has with the basic default chest and various attachements for it. We would keep the same Master Chief character model but be able to change every aspect about it (ex: visor color, chest attachments, etc.). We should be able to purchase parts to put onto our armor and MOVE them around. That way, no one has the exact same “set” armor pieces.
Also, a short TU should be released with every map pack if new armor pieces are introduced. Nothing is wrong with that.

Actually, Nowadays the majority of the Hats are made by the TF2 community and picked by Valve for inclusion into the game. They do add new weapons for the classes which generally mix things up with new tactics and capabilities for that class, I still enjoy the switch time on my Reserve Shooter as a Soldier. Hat’s just make people look different(I’m quite fond of my tank commander helmet), Weapon sets change the gameplay up. The community makes the hats and weapons, while Valve takes them and does all the balancing when they include them as sets. Community armor suggestions would be amazing for 343, but the very nature of the Xbox stops any kind of game mod work like that.
I’d like to see new Armors included with maps, Maybe 343 while developing 4 came up with a means to handle that coding issue that Reach is stricken with. And I concur Mfrgo5, that sounds like a good way to handle customization of Armor with attachment sets to move around. I still like the system in Reach, so maybe mixing and matching of the systems. Reach’s helmets were disappointing for the copy and past nature of their attachments.
Myself I’ve always wanted to just, Cannibalize a Dead ODST for their armor in Campaign. Their chest peice looks better than the unlockable one along with their odst helmet with one flashlight on the top right. That and those Marines with their radio packs, i get jealous of that for some reason. I presume that those are in the coding for the Customization system of Reach, because the Marines use that system for their variation.

this is a discussion regarding Halo 4, not reach. We all know about the cancelled armor DLC. Thank you.
on topic. I’m all for additional armor, but it should definitely come with map pack purchases. 343 just needs to look at Gears of War 3 to see how not to handle MP customization add ons.
