When playing Halo 4 with a party I’m constantly frustrated by how difficult it is to tell my team where I am, which direction I’m headed and where enemies are. Let’s look at what’s been removed from Reach:
No map callouts displayed onscreen. This was a great feature in Reach as you always knew where you were, and didn’t have to invent callouts with your friends. You could play with randoms and you’d all know what the location names meant.
No compass. True, I barely even used this in Reach, but I’m feeling its removal. It was nice to have a solid check on direction. “They’re coming from the rocks? Which ones?” “The North ones” “Ok, cool”
No consistent map weapons. Back in Reach I could tell my team “two guys heading toward Red Shotgun tunnel” or “they’re rushing the rocket spawn”. Not any more.
NO RED X. Do 343 not realise what a huge difference this makes? I can’t believe they’d leave this out by mistake, and yet why on earth would they do this intentionally?
Besides the naming(you know,North ,East and all them nice namings)everything else was in previous games. So stop saying everything’s from Reach. But anyway,i used to go competitive in halo 3 & reach, because…well i find it super dooper fun.Halo 4 on the other hand,i’ll just wait until they put something competitive or just more playist like Action Sack(it’s all i need really)but it should be like H3,no exp or anything, just fun
Well, all of those are nice features, but the only one that absolutely needs to return is the red X. They can leave the yellow X on the radar if they want, but bring back the red X
The compass is nice. I never used it, but I wouldn’t mind it returning for those who do. I never liked the map callouts in Reach. I never used them, and when you made Forge maps, it was annoying to have them pop up, (even when the map is self contained). I would prefer they remain out, as generally people are able to come up with their own callouts anyway, (green-room, shotgun tunnel, etc.).
