Initial spawns need to be moved.
Red at Banshee pad and Blue either in Shotgun or Small Tower.
Red at Big Tower and Blue at Small.
Rockets drop spawn? 30 seconds? something?
this map needs to go.away. the “revamped” global spawning hasn’t really fixed it either.
First off, playing Red vs blue on this map isn’t so bad, unless you keep spawning Green arm, (where Green Team spawn on Multi Team). Is it possible to shoten the length of it?
Power weapon spawns need to be fixed, Rockets to go top mid. Snipers are OK i guess. Shotgun needs to be removed. People just camp at teleporter with it.
Spawns in general on this map are bad, any spawn top mid are death dealers.
A tweaking of them would improve gameplay.
For Multi Team, if you the length of Green arm is shortened and weapon spawns are like i say, then they won’t be at a massive disadvantage.
Orange can challenge for 3 power weapons yes but it’s unlikely they’ll get all 3.
All teams have chance to Get rockets, and 3 teams have chance to get Sniper, sorry Green.
This map should only be in Rumble Pit and Multi Team. It is bad is Team Slayer, and in SWAT four words “blue team spawn kill.”

I tend to agree. It is just a mess every time I play it.
this map isnt inherently bad. that being said, it has a LOT working against it. there needs to be at least 1 more route to the big base, even if this is a sub-route like a trick jump (from main ramp to the right side of the base).
i have no idea why were still using the bungie version of this map when probably 10000 remakes have been made of it that are all infinitely better, plus ten.
Altitude is much better.
Pinnacle is alright. The spawns on it are nowhere near as bad as Uncaged or whatever that one is. Holy crap. I always enjoy a good game on Pinnacle because you inevitably have the one clown who runs to the top of the satellite antennar, thinking he’s clever.
And then you drop him from basically anywhere on the map. Lesson learned.

yup, it’s just a giant standoff on top of a pillar, the majority of the maps just goes ignored.
I really enjoyed Ascension back in Halo 2, but something is a little off about this remake. The spawns are pretty bad, for starters. Overall it just doesn’t fit Reach’s style of gameplay very well.
Why this map hasn’t been removed completely from matchmaking is beyond me, I’ve never been in a match where there were no quitters and I’ve started quitting myself when it’s ARs.
Worst map in the game. It’s absolutely useless for everything.
This map should be removed or completely redesigned.

Walkthrough
This map not only has the much needed cover that is lacking from the original but the spawns were changed to accommodate for the long range of the DMR. Red team still spawns at Big Tower but Blue now spawns under the Small Tower instead of at Rockets. What this does is it makes it so that both teams reach their respective snipers at the same time instead of Red getting theirs first and then using that to kill any Blue that try to get theirs.
This also allows for more distance to the rockets from the start of the game so it allows Red team to not only get more breathing room in the opening rush but also allows them to fight back against it if they are quick enough. What usually happens is as soon as the match starts a few guys rush rockets and then one person is forced to reluctantly teleport b/c they didn’t get the rocket. Spawning at the base of the Small Tower allows for people to more decisively choose their approach and instead of having multiple people jump down there they can instead go top mid and clash with Red.
Moving the Blue initial spawn a few feet drastically improves the playibilty of the map due to rebalancing the asymmetry to favor both teams in its own way instead of heavily favoring Red.
Like the look of Altitude, DL’d the link for it, will leave more feedback later.
Blue team will nearly always get rockets on this map, maybe they could be relocated to either the middle or the extreme end of the map (where the DMR spawns, and where Green team spawns in multi team I think)
Pinnacle
I agree with everyone who says this map needs to go. The sniper tower was just too powerful every time I’ve played and I usually just get spawn camped by it. There is almost no way to get to that tower untouched when playing 4v4. I really just want to see this gone or extremely tweaked, as I have never played a fun match here and cringe when I see it on the vote list.
EDIT: I saw Altitude, and it looks a lot better. Replace possibly?
