Halo Reach, Halo 4, and Halo 5 all had decent to good map design. Halo 5’s maps felt like a warehouse and the maps lacked identity. It seems like those days are over. Live Fire and Recharge are my favorite maps since Halo 3. They are full of identity and feel like natural landscapes.
What are your thoughts on the map design so far?
Live fire is okay but im not a fan of recharge personally. I’ll have to see how the other maps turn out but they are okay IMO. Glad u like them though
The map reminds a ton of my favorite halo 3 map, both in theme (as a live-fire training grounds for fighting brutes) and in gameplay, being some more compact open areas with a central ‘hallway’ system (with a power weapon in it) and smaller interior areas surrounding them.

Recharge reminds me of a Halo CE map called Prisoner, but modernized. I really enjoy the angles, design of the levels, and the traversals you can do. Live Fire is great for me because it has a lot of intermediate to short range combat while having enough cover.
Both have a core spirit to them and not soulless.
I love the new maps. They feel like Halo CE maps and have excellent sightlines and hallways. The second map feels a lot like Prisoner from Halo 1. Way better than the 4/5 maps.

The verticality and vertical sightlines really give you that feel.
I’m enjoying these maps a lot. Live-fire plays better imo, but the aesthetic is recharge is so nice (and I love that grapple).
I’m kind of surprised that they chose 2 asymmetrical maps to show off in this test (maybe 3, bazaar also looked asymmetrical). Personally I love them, but I know a lot of players prefer symmetrical maps for arena.

I would definitely pick Live Fire as my favorite currently however I get that map 5 times more than Recharge so it’s hard to learn the map to the same degree. Both of these maps would be insane for SWAT.
The 1st map I find to be pretty good, the 2nd map that dropped I have a bit problems with, it’s not that bad of a map but I find myself getting lost & having a hard time finding different weapons

I can agree with the point of getting lost trying to find weapons. Are you getting the map rarely too?
