I would like to initially state that the layout of most arena maps in Halo 5 are very well designed to accompany Spartan Abilities. However, they feature aesthetic redundancy that heavily impacts the player negatively. Due to this, many are requesting more maps to be implemented. The initial map count isn’t low or horrid (excluding breakout and forge maps specifically in arena); in fact, eight developer conceptualized maps is a good starting point for the life of a new game. Unfortunately, visual/aesthetic redundancy causes that number to feel ultimately smaller. For example, the three main maps that suffer the most are Empire, Eden, and Fathom. Naturally, they play different; however, the asset use between them is entirely too similar. This inevitably dampens the player’s experience. Truth and Regret, on the other hand, have a distinct (enough) aesthetic difference to feel different. Personally, Regret’s layout is convoluted and weapon placements are unsatisfying. Plaza and Rig are the only maps that don’t have a similar counterpart(excluding god-awful Overgrowth). Halo 3 launched with nearly the same amount of maps (excluding breakout and forge maps), but the aesthetic design varied tremendously; thus, there was no rush to implement more. Hopefully, the map creation team ditches the idea of remixes following the Fathom and Rig recreations.
The lack of variety creates a void of hunger for more maps, and poor rotation amplifies this effect.
I really wanna like this game Bangs head against wall repeatedly
