Map creator in Halo.

Who else wants one? I know I do. So how do we go about getting it? Do we the fans sit we create a version of our own? Meaning that it is complete talk and idealistic at the same time.

You mean Forge?

Ahh, to have a map editor in Halo similar to in function to Far Cry 2’s.

I think kiknwing means a map creator, which is a tool to create maps from the ground up, unlike forge which modifies maps.

I’d like to see a full-blown map editor in Halo, with options such as water, raise/lower terrain, etc.

However, there’s only so much you can do with a console, due to the limited amount of buttons and the difficulty in creating an intuitive interface. Combined with the 360’s current age, I see map editors as a next-gen item for Halo.

Yeah anything to differentiate between far cry and Halo. Map creator it is.

Halo 2 map editor.

You did not just say that…wow halo 2 anniversary map creator, cool!

I believe he was talking about the map editor tool for the PC version of Halo 2.

It would be incredibly awesome to have, use, and experiment with, and I don’t think it’s too much of a stretch to think a full on map creator (similar to Far Cry’s) could come to Halo eventually. That would be the next logical step in evolving Forge.

Halo Custom Edition had a pretty good one if you had expensive programs that you knew how to use!

Yuo mean like Halo 5 right?

Simple. You just need to camp out near 343’s building and watch for if/when they throw away a computer/harddrive. Then sneak over there and salvage it, and try to find/understand their map creation software if there’s still a trace of it on there.

Don’t forget the need to have a metric blamton of time and a ridiculous amount of knowledge about the engine’s internals, if you plan on creating anything even remotely decent! :stuck_out_tongue:

Something more user friendly and xbox compatible would be nice.

It would be nice if 343i and Crytek got together and made a map creator like that of Cry engine’s Sandbox. Cause I’ve made a ton of maps using the sand box editor for Crysis 1 - 2 that are great, epic, but never released, but I’ve never really created any maps using Halo’s Map creator, but I’ve played around with some of the tools, and learned how to do somethings.
