Racing for the power weapons and holding down the area for map control always as been at the core of halo since the days of C.E… There’s nothing like communicating with your team members and trying to keep them power weapons in key possession as much as defending or playing the objective in the variety of game modes halo as to offer… Today’s halo has strained away to far from its roots delivering in massive amounts of metals and counter fitting ordnance drops for those who have high kills…So the heavens throw down the all mighty power weapon to unleash? is that true 343?
Well lets be honest is ordnance the new concept of map control or are we peeking the aspects of Call of Duty Here? "Generally the concept behind the combat was fire, melee, grenade and it worked because it was different and was a formula that shouldn’t be altered… “My grandpa always use to say if it don’t break down, don’t fix it”… but since the leading industry has tried to stay on par with its leading rival “Call of Duty” the concept of halo now delivers load outs or should i say (class’s)to make the experience fresh… well 343 i’m glad your all hyped up about the new lastest game called (Call of Duty), but we have to go back to work and perfect halo and not make a replica of the leading cash cow!!
Now lets get down to business, you honestly think these ordnance drops have the same affect as someone desperately working together to get the power weapons? How about i say your wrong and actually tell you why this variation of call of duty is hurting the core aspects of halo… For one calling in a rocket launcher after the bar fills up is absorbingly awesome how? oh cause i got 6 kills or whatever it takes to fill the bar, so i’m awesome? reward me for helping my team cause i made 6 kills? So are we trying to cater to the ones who do nothing but spray and pray all over the map or do you think somehow now that they get handed one of the most powerful weapons in the game they’ll start helping there team and sticking close to there team mates and providing cover and support? uhm well Ricky called one in to so now the we have 2 rockets were awesome cause the other team has no ordnance drops… Do you actually think this brings communication into the game?..Did you realize that 95 percent of the people have their head sets turned off because the game requires them not to talk to get ordnance drops? Just understand that halo needs this game type maybe…, but why is there nothing for the classic players who want to get heir hands and feet dirty for true competitive aspect of what halo use to be… Start listening to the community and bring back the social aspect of halo… To many games have gone down the wayside following the path of least resistance… Bring back what was core and cater to the new as well… The amount of hours finding ordnance spawns and correcting areas of where the weapons spawns is a lot more complicated then placing a weapon in a fixed position with a timer in which it re-spawns on the map… i hope you read this forum and take my thoughts and re think your goals out for this game and the direction its going in before it flops…
I’m sorry, but these map control and power weapons race threads really make me sad.
Now that there’s always a chance for the losing team to win everyone is upset? Why? It makes games more interesting when the losing team gets it together and makes a comeback.
What’s so wrong with that?
Controlling power weapons isn’t needed if you use good teamwork. And map control is still in halo for the most part. There are parts of the map that have an advantage if you take and hold them. Like the factory on complex.
Ordnance is fairly predictable as well. Most maps frequent the same ordinances and its easy to counter them with a good setup in places like the factory on complex. Plan ahead and play with smart people and these “problems” go away.

Totaly agree with you dude, but this is the same thing that happened in reach with the class system. Once its out there, part of the community supports it while the people that actually see what’s wrong with it oppose it. Now 343i is trying to cater to both the halo community and “other” (COD) communities, and it aint working.
