I can’t get over the forged maps that have been added to matchmaking - to me they just don’t seem to have the next-gen caliber look. And quite frankly, most of the levels seem to have that bright, lego-land , toystory vibe. While the graphics are good, the detail and color just seems straight out of a cartoon.

(to me these two are comparable despite a 10+ year difference in technology) - and I am talking graphic / look

(similar thought here, myself I prefer the color / look of the bungie version)

Is anyone else even remotely seeing this? The more I play, the less and less I like the maps
Are you aware you’re comparing fully baked maps versus Forged maps in 2 examples, and then didn’t compare H5’s Overgrowth to H3’s Guardian to show off nature retaking technology?
While there is a difference between bungie and 343 maps, i think their biggest problem is that they dont offer the greatest variety. This applies to btb in my eyes, where there is no large open space maps, all are cut up in one way or another. I mean, remakes of good ones like deadlock and guillotine are because they know that they work, but then they try “remixing” with basin and recurve and the maps are terrible, at least to me. Valhalla was extremely good, with a variety of long range wapons and large open spaces to shoot throughout, and with tons of vehicles it was incredibly fun. Now basin has 3 vehicles per team, which mainly go untouched in every game i have played, and the sightlines are a lot worse. All the maps seem cluttered, instead of being large open spaces to mess around with vehicles on. And these maps are not built to become better unless drastically changed, because people want more things on them. Big team heavies is one of my favourite gametypes, but on something like recurve, the map isn’t open enough to allow for proper vehicle madness with rockets flying everywhere. Meanwhile, sandtrap could handle many types of gametypes perfectly, and always remain fun. They need to look to these maps for their ideas of new maps, but right now they seem to take arena maps and simply broaden them, which does not work for big team.
