So I guess this is supposedly the best place to submit bug reports, so here goes…343i, I really hope you look at this. I know you guys have had a ton of issues with this game and I’m pretty sure your main focus is going to be on getting all the multiplayer stuff worked out, but there are quite a few frustrating issues that we (my wife and I…yep, she’s a gamer and yes, I’m very lucky!) have encountered playing campaign and co-op campaign (locally on the same system with our individual gamertags) that really need to be addressed, so please don’t leave us campaign players behind. The only thing we have done is play campaign, no multiplayer at all. The entire game needs to work correctly, not just the most popular parts. Below is the list of issues that we have found during our time playing every day for the past 3 weeks or so, with all updates downloaded and applied and always playing when connected to XboxLive. Some are major and some are minor annoyances, but ALL need to be fixed. Thank you in advance!
Summary: In general, it seems like most of the issues are affecting Player 2 in the co-op campaign, but certainly not all of the issues are limited to this. Medals (double kills, triple kills, killing sprees, etc.) are getting grouped together and showing the exact same kind and count for Player 1 and Player 2 on the carnage report after you complete a level, yet only Player 1 is actually getting credit for the medals and medal counts in the achievements section (Player 2 still shows 0 medals earned after 3 weeks of playing, and she is NOT happy about it). Achievements, Avatar unlocks, etc. aren’t getting awarded properly, or on time. We both received the Where Am I achievement before actually completing 10 levels. It wasn’t even close (I had completed 6 and she had completed 3). I did not receive the achievement, or get the Avatar unlock for completing the Pillar of Autumn on Halo: CEA for TWO DAYS (and no, we have not had any issues with our internet…we have been connected to xbox live every time we have played)! I actually received the achievement for Truth and Reconciliation before Pillar of Autumn and Halo, and yes I am playing them in order. Other achievements/unlocks have required returning to the game home screen and then going back into the campaigns section before they appear, restarting the game itself before they appear, and even restarting the system before they appear. When viewing the carnage report for the first 2 campaign levels that we played (first 2 levels of Halo 2), it showed the Player 2 main weapon as the Banshee bomb for the first level (you can’t even fly the banshee on the first level) and the scattershot, a Halo 4 weapon, for the second level of Halo 2. These are a few of the big ones. Generally speaking stats, achievements, unlocks, etc. are not getting awarded or distributed correctly or in a timely fashion, no matter which Halo you play. Here is the detailed list:
- We both received the Where Am I achievement before completing 10 campaign levels, individually or collectively.
- Medals (triple kills, killing spree, etc.) seem to be grouped together on the carnage report instead of divided between Player 1 and Player 2 e.g. - I have received multiple needler kill medals and have not touched a needler yet, but Player 2 has used it quite a bit and hasn’t gotten credit for it.
- Player 2 is not getting credit for medals earned in the achievements sections, including but not limited to the medal count achievements.
- The main weapon used is not displaying the correct weapon used in the carnage report.
- Player 2 is not getting the Avatar unlocks that Player 1 is getting for doing the same exact thing. e.g. - The Master Chief avatar that unlocks after listening to the Master Chief’s service record at the beginning of Dawn in Halo 4. We both listened to it on separate days, yet only Player 1 received the unlock.
- Renaming the Spartan loadouts for Halo 4 takes multiple tries before the new name is saved, and it does not allow spaces even though spaces were allowed in Halo 4 on the Xbox360.
- Some achievements and unlocks do not get credited until you return to the game home screen, or restart the game, or even restart the system.
- Some achievements and unlocks are not getting credited for up to 2 days after being earned.
- Changing your avatar and having it Save required restarting the game.
- Accessing terminals when you find them starts the Halo Channel to play the video associated with that terminal. Unless you already have the Halo Channel running before you start playing the game, the game freezes and requires returning to the XboxOne home screen, quitting the Halo Channel, restarting the Halo Channel, entering back into the game, and accessing the terminal again…every single time. This happens with no other apps or games running on the system.
- In Halo: CEA, with the Assault Rifle equipped, when running around on a level, the ammo count graphic in the top corner of the screen (the picture of the individual bullets in the mag) repeatedly blurs and turns into solid grey bars. This is happening with an HDMI connection to a 3 year old 55" Samsung HDTV. This does not happen in Halo: CEA on the Xbox360.
I’m sure that I’m probably forgetting some other problems that we have encountered, but I’m also pretty sure resolving these will resolve anything else. Even though the issues are varying, they seem to be of the same nature so I’m hopeful you will be able to resolve these soon. We are both achievement hunters and the only reason I bought this game was for Halo 2 campaign (I have all the other Halo’s on the Xbox360 and they all work just fine) and the only reason I bought the XboxOne (which is very buggy in its own right and is severely over-priced for how little it actually successfully does as a supposed all-in-one entertainment system) was for this game. If you would have done like you were supposed to and released Halo 2 Anniversary on the Xbox360 so all of the Halo’s would be on one system where achievements could be acquired, etc., I wouldn’t have to be writing this, my wallet would be a lot fuller because I wouldn’t have bothered buying an XboxOne because I knew it wouldn’t live up to the hype, and you guys wouldn’t be getting this online reputation for not being able to build a game that works right…which is unfair since Halo: CEA for the Xbox360 turned out great. Just please get these issues resolved soon…don’t leave us campaign players and achievement hunters behind. Halo isn’t just about multiplayer. Thanks again in advance!
