Hello everyone! So what is the energy sword made of in the Halo Universe, and does it run out of charge canonically? Finally, does anyone think that humans can/have reverse engineer it in the Halo universe? I have always had these questions and figured this would be a good place to ask them.Thank you!
The Sangheili energy sword variants are made from super-heated plasma inhibited by magnetic fields generated by the hilt. In the books, as far as I’ve read, the energy level does not dissipate, the energy sword is shown to be as durable as a traditional sword crafted from metals. In my experience this only happens in gameplay.
As is the case with most Covenant technology, Humans have likely tried to reverse engineer it, but I haven’t seen any successful case in canon. Maybe it is present in a piece of media I haven’t read, a fellow Waypointer may comment on this.
