I see these scopes and stuff and wish I could use them like they look like they were designed to be used sometimes, since clearly they were designed with the thought not everyone has digital aiming assistance. Imagine a separate gamemode in halo were you actually used the scopes and iron sights manually like in a more modern fps having to put them to your face but with Halo’s awesome sci-fi weapons. I feel like you never get to experience this with the spartans and their auto lock and projected crosshair features. It would be a very interesting way to play, of course all the players would be marines not spartans and would have to sprint and have no shields, though it would equate to a very unique way to experience this universe. Additionally, this class could be mixed with spartans in custom gamemodes to create more diverse games, where marines could represent more human characters.
Again this would be separate from normal play and don’t comment about how COD has manual aiming and you hate cod since really plenty of games have it its just a more reality grounded way of aiming weapons.
It’d be cool to see Halo: Marine done in this fashion. Halo 4 is just not the place for it, that’s an entirely different system of gameplay.

You described an “every-other shooter”. Play them instead. Spending too much time on game mechanics that are just going to be in one single playlist and custom is not going to happen.
“We can do anything, we just can’t do everything.”
^The EXACT reason this will not be implemented
Oh boy, you might need one of these.
You might not, but it’s better to not need one and have it than to need one and not have it.
How hard could it be though? Take the marine model, take away shield, make little animations for guns with scopes or iron sights when you aim, add sprint, and its all done. Perhaps taking the idea a bit farther you can use the other little things on the guns you don’t use as a Spartan. But no this wouldn’t be an “every other shooter”, I mean there are plenty of shooters with manual aiming its just the more lifelike variation to aiming in games, just as plenty of games utilize instant scopes and crosshairs (counterstike, half life, quake). Halo has always been about variety, that is what separates it from other games, the ability to create so many new games with the weapons and mechanics it provides.
Do you have any idea how big of a waste of time this would be?
This idea isn’t as easy to implement/create as it might seem. Second of all, I don’t even see why we would do it.
Why add anything to the game? Why do anything to give new experiences? Why not just make it Halo 3 with updated graphics? I don’t know you tell me
> Why add anything to the game? Why do anything to give new experiences? Why not just make it Halo 3 with updated graphics? I don’t know you tell me
Why waste time on a completely illogical update for the given game that’s just going to end up having no one?
You tell me.

Well I disagree I think it would have players and be popular it would be a visceral human way to experience all the weapons and would add a lot to the experience. All your saying is its illogical because I don’t see why we would do it, your argument is limited in intelligence.

I really don’t think many people would use it.
Well, why? It would be more interesting and engaging than firefight if you think about it.

I have an idea, just zoom every time you go to shoot, or better yet just hold the zoom down the whole time and see how you do. Now go back to COD.
Well I guess everyone would just be stubborn and immature about the feature being used in another video games^ Oh well, it would have been cool.

We’re not being stubborn or immature. It’s just not necessary, and would create extra work for 343, and use up a lot of time that they could be using to work on other parts of the game. Plus, not very many people would use it.

No it wouldn’t have been cool, because it’s not Halo. Once again if you want that type of crap go to COD, if you want skillful aiming play Halo. Just don’t try and make Halo COD.
I wouldn’t be surprised if this turns up in the future anyway, it would be pretty easy to implement and would create a much different experience than cod, but wtvr you want to think~

How about you hold your breath until it shows up. You’ll be holding forever by they way. This was the one thing both casual and competitive players agreed on last time another COD kid suggested it. The vote was like 160-4 for not having that in Halo.
So COD: Halo? jk
Personally I think this would take to much time and resources for something that isn’t necessary at all.
