I was playing and I used a jetpack to fly above the Mantis. I was at least 10 feet above the Mantis, he stomped, and I died. How does that make sense? It shouldn’t be able to kill stuff above it/
muntiss is op
I’ve seen people swarming over a Mantis and the stomp do nothing whatsoever.
That honestly sounds like a fluke to me. Lag, perhaps. I find the stomp slow enough that it more than compensates for the damage.
There wasn’t any lag the whole game. I wish you could go into theater and watch games before the one you just finished so I could take a video.
You can. If you haven’t shut your Xbox off, you can view “recent films” for that day. It’s somewhere in the file system.
unfortunately, I have turned my 360 off. I didn’t realize that you could do that.
Try playing around with it in Custom Games. Lag can strike in the oddest of ways, and sometimes be hardly noticeable unless something like this event. If you’re able to successfully replicate being killed mid-air by the Mantis stomp, then we can all proceed with the founded assumption that it’s mechanic.
I’d help, but sadly I’m at work until 02:00 CST
I actually was able do get the clip back. I found the film, saved it, then recorded the clip. It’s in my fileshare. I do have 3 extra controllers and some people that can play with me so I’ll try to replicate it later.
Okay, I was able to recreate it in Forge. It seems it works only if the dust cloud hits the person. I somehow doubt a dust cloud could kill a Spartan. I’ll upload the clip to my fileshare later

It’s not just dust, it’s SOOPER MUNTISS DUSTZ!!!
But yeah, that is rather strange… The stomp most definitely shouldn’t kill somebody who’s above the vehicle itself…
I agree. Another thing that needs to be fixed
