So much for giving it a buff. The thing is STILL worthless. I can do more with a Ghost Ultra, HELL I can do more with a regular Ghost. The things machine gun is like a tickle machine and the rockets don’t do ANY splash damage and the stomp is still useless. You can crush someone and they still are able to board you with no issues. The only reason I’m even using the POS is to finish the commendations and then every single one I get will be sold for RP. Hoping 343i does SOMETHING to fix a vehicle that use to actually be useful in Halo 4.

Yep, I have a few stored but I won’t use them because of what I’ve heard. Also, when I used an enemy’s mantis and tried to kill one person, the turret was useless, then the overheat kicked in and the rockets were just as bad. This followed by a stomp, got immediately boarded, but by then the game was over.

I’m pretty good with them so I use them here and there.
id rather have a gungoose than a mantis any day
only issue with them being so bad im having a really hard time destroying them for my commendation since no one uses them

Did you know that Lord Viratus counts as a mantis kill? Just found out today. That is probably where I will finish it.
Always had said it needs a buff…I would destroy any mantis in H5 with the mantis from H4.
My big question is if the oni hog… a req level 3 vehicle, fires exploding rounds… how come the oni mantis, a req level 7 vehicle doesn’t?
Either fix the stomp or remove the thing and give me a boost that take 30-45 seconds to charge or something. The fact that you can be boarded to easily now and you no longer have to melee the hatch on any large vehicle before being able to drop a nade in makes me skeptical to use ANY large vehicle besides a banshee lol They need to fix this crap and FAST!
They need to make Wraiths not be able to splatter it, and only allow people to board it from the back. Kinda makes the stomp useless because someone can just jump on you from the front.

I was wondering that myself. This thing fires ROCKETS!!! Rockets EXPLODE!!! So why in the hell can I shoot at someones feet while they’re hiding behind a damn tree and box and yet I’m unable to do ANY damage to them? The rockets a gungoose fires has no issues doing splash damage, The Mantis was meant to be a mobile vehicle that requires focused team fire. Now 1-2 people can easily take it down from close range.

Good to know. Now I know what commendation I’m working on tomorrow.
Until they change the stomp to actually do something I don’t think I will ever use it.
Either buff them or lower their req level to like 4.
I don’t even use them, I sell my REQs. They really need to get rid of the boarding from the front thing.
