What’s even the point of Mantis stomp? It’s completely useless.
The range of the stomp seems actually smaller than the boarding range…WHAT? Who’s brain short-circuited at 343 to approve this?
Not only is Mantis stomp useless, you also need to stay 10 meters away from everyone in all directions, and at all times, or else you’re toast. It’s ridiculous.
Remove frontal boarding.
I think Mantis should have a giant sword instead of machine gun tbh
tbh I don’t think you should able to board the Mantis at all. We have enough OP weapons to destroy the mantis which I think makes it more balance.
I didn’t know there was frontal boarding now. That is depressing, but good to know for the next time I’m on Guillotine.

The Mantis is just totally underpowered in this game, and I never used it in 4 so I don’t know how it compares really… I just used it three times and each time the stomp didn’t work, only seems to work for targets directly in front of you so you’re screwed as soon as two or more people charge. Also it’s shields are only as powerful as my own? What is this!?! Should be at least twice as strong!
the mantis is at least twice as fast now though.
Gone are the days of circling your enemies, keeping your face towards them denying them the hijack.
So far I have not found the Mantis to be too useful against Spartans and their abilities. It’s an anti-vehicle platform with close ranged support needed to keep “flies off its back.”
Not sure if it’s worth the high level requirement. Banshees are a hell of a lot more damaging than Mantises within the context of gameplay and there’s a lot of tools available by the time the Mantis does come out that can deal with it from any range. Haven’t come across a long living Mantis, even when the enemy was far superior. Tanks and Banshees, oh ya, I’ve seen a couple of those last a LOOOOONG time, but not a Mantis.
Due to the long timing and seemingly specialized splash-damage of a stomp, I think they can add a boarding repelling electric shock to the impact of the stomp (or just before).
As long as stomp hasn’t been used, the enemy knows it shouldn’t board because if they aren’t stomped on approach (which is rather easy to avoid in H5), they can be rejected by the boarding countermeasure and with half to no shielding. If the Mantis does stomp and misses, they can board immediately, drop a 'nade and be off before the next stomp. If they attempt to melee the Mantis to destruction, they leave themselves open to being rejected.
OR, just remove frontal boarding 
Either-or, I’ve a lot of Mantises that don’t get used because they come in late in the game and aren’t going to affect the outcome like an ONI-tank, Ultra Banshee, or even an Ultra Ghost.
I find I pull Mantises out to feel like I’m helping to impose my already superior forces… And I’m taunting the enemy because if we were anywhere near equal strength, they’d have downed me long ago.
And for 8 reqs in warzone? lol no
