Hello fellow spartans and elites! I wanted to start a topic on the Mandela Effect, where people can talk about things in Halo that they think has changed. If you don’t know what it is, then here’s the definition. It’s when someone has a clear memory of something that’s never happened in this reality. Personally, I don’t believe it, but I think all the stories are entertaining, and it makes you think.
I guess nobody cares about me anymore…
My favorite is probably how a lot of people claimed, and still claim, that 343i is made up of mostly ex-Bungie employees who worked on Reach and the games before it. Whoever started that rumor and spread it around is probably a genius.
Also, just as an FYI - don’t bump your own posts, it’s considered a form of spam.
I remember having an argument with another player about a conversation I thought we’d had during a match. The only issue was I didn’t meet that person until well after the match I was thinking about had been played (literally a couple of years.) I still don’t know if I had confabulated the initial conversations or confused her with someone I did have the conversation with.
and as above

Oh, ok. Thanks for the info.
The ulimate example for me: I have memories of enjoying Halo 3. Clearly that’s insane because that was a horrible and unplayable game, verified by MCC. Memory really is fallible, just like they say.

For what it’s worth I have really fond memories of playing custom games in H3. (Evident by my 4000 custom game matches in H3).
I read a thread the other day, talking about sword blocking, and players were saying it was present in Halo 4, but I firmly believe it was a Reach only feature. Either the Mandela effect is affecting me or them, I cannot tell.
For whatever reason I vividly remember there being a section on the first level of Halo 3 that isn’t actually in the game.

Can you describe it?

Yeah it’s right before the final chapter where you’re rescuing Johnson and the marines after they were taken hostage, I remember there being an area where the Covenant had this little encampment on top of a hill you had to charge up and Cortana moments were happening throughout. I don’t know why I always think it’s real.

Maybe you’re getting mixed up with when they were captured during the level Sierra 117.
I remember halo 5 story being good. i see now that i was blind as a result of being on sangheilios. its like that place makes you forget all of the wrong, until you go in forge and your chunk gets teleported out of bounds.
I remember Halo 5 forge being simple, but that was probably the extreme amounts of grunt toys inside of the arena.
Ok, I have a legit Mandela effect. I can say I never played halo 4 or 5. After years, I recently started playing MCC. In team doubles, me and a friend got a match on Haven. Now I immediately recognized the map, as if I had played it on halo 3. I remember many rumble pit battles on that map. Like I said, I NEVER played halo 4. I have searched the web and its like that map was never made before halo 4. Can anyone else confirm this, it’s drivin me nuts!

Please don’t revive old threads. This one was over a year old.
