Man, that Season 2 reveal teaser was something incredible

how do we know if 1 of them are temporary?

Only ones I know which will be permanent are KOTH and Attrition which are coming as soon as S2 drops

The gamemode is locked behind an event

This Season we’ve had Events end and their mode’s time in matchmaking end with it. The feedback around this approach was not unexpected, but we wanted to give it a try to see if it could help spice up events. Now that we’ve given it a try though, we will be doing a better job of making Event content available in the normal matchmaking rotation starting in Season 2.

Doubtful that they will take it out, probably will be a rotational playlists or permanent, depending on how much people like it.

More game modes are pretty irrelevant tbh if the core issues are not addressed (which they won’t be) and we aren’t getting more than 2 maps (which we won’t be).

Lets see if they stay true to there words. They already lied of Infinite not being like Halo 5 and Infinite having Reach style customizations.

Exactly they need to fix the issues of the game and get it out of its “alpha-state”

That quantity of maps is not a problem, it falls in line with the normal amount of past Halo’s.
It was the amount of gamemodes at launch, you kept playing the same mode on the same map, over and over again.
It caused the modes and the maps to grow stale and now it is like," We just want new maps."

That’s the thing, if they fixed the core issues, people would’ve complained," NO NEW CONTENT."
If they added content," NO FIX CORE ISSUES."

It does have reach style customizations, actually better reach style customizations, just most of it is locked behind a paywall, lol

Ok…so we all know there’s a lot issues and a lack of content. If you’re happy with just having more game modes on the same boring maps +2 on repeat with the same issues then you’re entitled to be so.

My point is these things aren’t and should never be mutually exclusive to each other, but the way you are phrasing makes it sound like they are.

After the First Fracture week when we first got Fiesta it was removed since the fracture week was over. We asked for it back to have a new gamemode other than:

Quickplay
BTB
Ranked

They added it back and that got old quickly because there was only 4 gamemodes now:

Quickplay
BTB
Fiesta
Ranked

Swat was supposed to come out with Tactical Slayer but we asked for it sooner bc it was an easy setup. Remove Full autos, only precision weapons, no shields, no radar.
So we got:

Quickplay
BTB
Fiesta
Tactical Slayer (Swat)
Ranked

Then attrition came out with the synthetic event and when that was over it was removed and never returned and that was a really fun gamemode but they removed new content and people asked for it back and they didn’t until now with them saying its making a return for Season 2 and will probably become temporary again.

Then people who love slayer got annoyed that slayer was soft locked in quickplay with oddball and ctf and are forced to play those modes if they want slayer since 343 is forcing gamemodes together to maintain a good population for other gamemodes which is a terrible idea because that just makes people play less. So they added Team slayer as its own mode while still making it playable in quickplay:

Quickplay (still has team slayer)
BTB
Fiesta
Team Slayer
Tactical Slayer (Swat)
Ranked

So from my experience of infinite I’m not expecting much from season 2 so I’m not disappointed like everybody else will become.

It doesn’t have reach style customizations they limit players on customization to what pieces can be put on what armor core.

I would like to put the Mk. 6 prototype helmet on the Mk.7 chest piece with Mk. 5 shoulder pads to make my spartan look like its wearing Mk. 6 armor. But I can’t each armor piece is soft locked to a specific core.

Now thats reach style customization customizing your spartan with any piece of armor on any part of the body. Not only certain pieces of armor can only be applied to a specific core to any part of the body.

I also thought the trailer looked great. But I don’t see a lot being offered or changed in season 2 so my prediction is that some people will get overhyped and suffer an inevitable letdown.

Oh, I totally agree.
I’m just saying, 343 (for some reason) can only work on so many things at a time or at a certain speed it appears.
I don’t know whether that is because of the engine, lack of staff, incompetence, or a mix of all 3.

I wasn’t trying to suggest that I am ok with the offering, I would’ve loved more content, all I was trying to say, it really was a lose/lose for 343.
It didn’t matter what they did, people would’ve been upset either way

Like the post said, they are going to have event modes stay in matchmaking for S2, did you not read at all? Lol

The MK. V (b) is the reach core.
Compared to OG Reach, it has plenty of customization options (aside from coatings, that system just plain sucks)
Most of it is locked behind a paywall of course.
But then we have MK.VII and Yorai, even more customization (Yorai is really sad because, even if you pay, you get barely anything)

Like it or not, it is Reach style customization, but better.
When they lift the limitations, it is going to be 10x better.

Honestly, I wasn’t that impressed by it. I know it’s a teaser and yes, it looks great and was well produced and such, but in my opinion, if the theme of season 2 is “lone wolves” the trailer didn’t reflect that really I feel.

As far as the actual season, I’m interested in seeing what they will do, sure… but I don’t have a lot of “hype” per say I’m sorry to say. I am looking forward to KOTH though! :+1: That mode should of never left!!! But the lack of bug/networking issues, a decent progression system, the beyond terrible UI and still no ranked Team Slayer playlist (And absolutely no indication of one coming anytime soon) has me really not caring overall unfortunately :disappointed: I enjoy social but after a few games or so it just doesn’t keep me engaged and wanting to play.

the armor like before looks dope, the maps we didn’t get a good look at so they could easily be another bathemith or three laned garbage, and we didn’t see modes so… it’s all shiny with no real substance

Y’all see that Elite skull shoulder piece? I wouldn’t have noticed if YouTube didn’t point it out.

So sick.

Catalyst actually looks like it had some verticality, so I don’t think it will be 3 lane garbage.

And Breaker looked really cool to me, glad to see we are getting some different biomes and not anymore human maps.
Halo can do so much better than Human facilities and such.

Catalyst and Breaker look like Halo imo, so I look forward to trying them out

The armor overall from the trailer looks super sick imo.
Other than a few pieces, it is all gonna be in the BP according to ske7ch, and with earnable credits, I might actually buy into the S2 BP
Especially with crosscore on the way

Hey numbskull I did read what they said is supposed to happen in Season 2 but I’m not believing all of it.

343 said in previous vids and livestreams before infinite’s launch that:

  1. They said they won’t make the same mistakes they did with Halo 5 and they ended up repeating those mistakes with as an example very few gamemodes that are mostly comp based.

  2. Infinte will have Reach style customization instead there are limitations on what can be applied to specific cores.

  3. When they released the multiplayer on a livestream they said it was the full Multiplayer they lied and it was actually a beta.

Those are just some of the things they said about infinte and turned out to be the complete opposite. Please I’d like to see you try and defend this.

The mk.v (b) is reach armor core wow you don’t say I would’ve never guessed thats amazing captain obvious.

Reach alone has 148 armor pieces to customize your spartan and this is not including the content released from Season 5 and 8 of MCC.

The Reach armor core in infinite alone has 64 armor pieces to customize your spartan.

The Yoroi armor core in infinite alone has 39 armor pieces to customize your spartan.

The Mk. 7 armor core in infinite alone has 89 armor pieces to customize your spartan and the most pieces this armor core has for customization is the visor.

So yeah when you combine all 3 cores of the pieces they have it will be more than OG reach but when you compare it 1 to 1 OG Reach has way more and thats just launch armor. Especially OG reach has more than half of what Infinite reach contains.

So how does infinite reach have plenty when it has less than half of OG Reach?

You say it has Reach style customizations but proceed to say there are limitations. You contradict yourself about this and OG Reach had no limitations all 148 pieces can be applied to your armor.

In infinite only the 64 armor pieces for the reach core are only applied to the Reach core and can’t be applied to Mk. 7 and Yoroi. THEY LIMIT US AGAIN. Same with the 89 Pieces for Mk.7 only go on Mk. 7 core and not reach and Yoroi. The 39 Yoroi pieces can only go on Yoroi core and not on Reach and Mk.7.

When they remove the limitations then it’ll be reach style but for now it isn’t. Like it or not its not Reach style customization. Lol can’t believe I had to really explain it.

I wouldn’t say it was incredible. I would say something is better than nothing at this point. And what was up with the rewards in the tactical event a few weeks back? The emblem had a wolf and a number 2 on it.

They made a pretty trailer, doesn’t mean the content’s going to be great.

Why do people still fall for this?
