Man, Spartans are so stupid

They got these helmets and neural inplants that connect them to the scope of their gun. It projects the scope’s view to the Spartan directly, with no need to hold it directly to their face.

So why don’t they just shoot around corners?! They can just see a dude and be like “Oh he’s gonna shoot me.” so they hold their gun around the corner and aim with their fancy helmets and go “bang” and the bad dude is dead. But why don’t they?

Y’know I never thought about this…

Because you have to be able to see the target for the HUD and smart-link to work. The Software suite is in the Helmet , not the Gun.
Honestly , if the camera were in the gun , it would work the way you describe.
Then we would have MP games where every one is corner peaking(?) , not sure what to call it if not actually peaking around the corner.

Hahaha xD - believe me - camping will rise to the stars

I hope this never implemented. Multiplayer will be horrible with that as a possibility to kill.

I could see adding one gun that could be used to peak around corners and shoot. Other games have had this before and there are real life equivalents. Not sure how useful it would be in multiplayer, but in a stealth section of campaign it might be cool.

Actually, the gun does not have a camera. From what I could decipher from the lore, they may have some sort of device that senses where the gun is pointing. The gun then somehow relays this data to the Spartan’s helmet and then the HUD puts a little crosshair in the direction of fire.

Ummm…a game called Stalker & -Yoink!-.

And if that was the case, OP, it’s because they want to DIE WITH HONOR!

Or am I getting that confused with Sangheili…

Well, Spartans can’t do that because there isn’t a camera connected to the gun, so Spartans wouldn’t be able to aim a gun around the corner.

That’s it.
Helmet only works with gun to pick up where the gun is aimed at and tells spartan where it is aimed with an icon. If you pointed a gun around a corner it would tell you that the gun is aimed around the corner but wont tell you what it is pointing at.
motion tracker is the same way. Doesn’t tell you where exactly something is, or what it is, just that something warm moved from one location to another relative to you. red dots only pop up for known threats I.F.F.s. Green known allies, white anything else.
