The times before Bungie’s Optimatch forums went down, probably about 7 months ago or over the summer were the best times for this place. Back then only a few people actually defended Reach. We had some great threads that dominated the front page like your Top 3 things for the Title Update. Now the front page of Reach is ridden with nonsense threads.
It was inevitable with Bungie transferring Reach to 343i, but these forums sure have seen better days.

Well, I personally don’t miss the old forums. But to be honest, this place is less interesting than it was few months ago. Bsck then I tought the debates I participated in weren’t very good. But compared to what I have had now they were absolutely fantastic. We had some pretty great threads back in the summer. The quality of discussion seems to have decreased, or maybe I’m just in the wrong place at the wrong time.
But I do agree with Enfinit that the best is most likely yet to come. The best thing about the following months is that we will most likely see the population and therefore activity skyrocket. I’m especially interested in the latter part, this place is still pretty slow even though the population is much higher than few months ago.
I’m sorry, but I’m hung up on the “only one person defended Reach” bit… It sounds to me like what you’re saying is “This place sucks now that there are more diverse opinions than just the one I subscribe to.” While I’m sure this wasn’t your intention, I still fail to see how you could have higher quality discussions if everyone shared the same viewpoint.
Yes, there are a number of things that could be improved (and a few annoying bugs that need to be squashed) I wouldn’t go so far as to call the game broken. I do agree that the average post quality has diminished significantly…
I both miss and don’t miss those days, I miss those days because there wasn’t as many people who are narrow minded and start going crazy and posting anti reach posts every now and again. But I don’t miss those days because of the forum’s soft ware, I hated posting on the forums back then because the soft ware wasn’t the best, and the forums wasn’t that well organized, which means I couldn’t go to a forum board like the CEA or Halo 4 forum board and post with out having too look at the massive amount of anti reach threads.

I enjoyed those times too, every one getting hyped up over rumors, and making imaginary connections, and not listening when 343i said they wasn’t going to be showing any thing at the VGAs, and then after, every thing fell apart, and I got a good laugh out of it.
Im not sure if I am understanding correctly, but are you saying you are frustrated with more people that like Reach,showing up on a Reach forum?
If you would like better content, perhaps you could create a thread of the substance you desire. Its kinda sad to see someone lament success and enjoyment =/
This forum is picking up traffic everyday and I have found most of the new guys to be cool and I have seen many substantive threads that go beyond just Reach is the best or Reach is the worst.

damn waypoint stopping me from trolling! why do the mods and members have to be so mature and vigilant. and why do you have to have constant active discussions where people share their opinions and don’t even flame when others disagree.
(in case you haven’t noticed, I’m saying waypoint forums are a mature place where meaningful discussions take place, things can only go up here)
I was never really active in the Beta. In fact, when the new forums went live, I only had roughly 20 posts or so.
But I honestly love this place! Even though we are starting to see some meaningless threads pop up every now and then, it’s still a place full of diverse opinions on many different things that create some interesting discussions!
I have been here for a little while and in my opinion the forums are improving on every front. I did enjoy the forums back then but as more people have come along the ideas and discussions have become more varied and interesting to me. I am really looking forward to the coming year, especially when Halo 4 info begins to come forth.

Yep! Just as link said, back then, in 2010, it was like a big family, and then more and more people joined. It is disapointing that some of the people from before have left, but good to see new people are here and other people are stayed.
