Erm, that’s a bit of a stretch going by the size of the turret and the Warthog that was in front of it. Maybe 2 times the size.
Stuff changes though, some weapons look completely different when compared to their classic counterparts.
It definitely looks more like an Elephant, but the name of it hasn’t been confirmed as far as I know.

it would be cool if on one map they made doors that only red/blue good go through then since it has the roof it could be a mobile spawn base

From what I’ve been able to calculate it’s about 8 times as large, but that isn’t too accurate, and I didn’t calculate all of the factors of the Mammoth in.

thats why they make it like sandtrap where you cant drive out into all of that but make a bigger area to be in

I’d say your “calculations” are wrong. Just looking at the rocket turret (assuming it’s the same size as the one in Reach) the Mammoth/Elephant looks to be about 1.5 or 2 times the size of the Halo 3 Elephant.
Not to say I wouldn’t be fine with the Mammoth being it’s name. Sounds pretty awesome.

I did look at the rocket turret, in fact it is what I based my calculations off of. You are correct in saying that it is about 2.5 the size of the Elephant, but that is only length wise. It’s about twice as tall and 2 times the width. which would come out to about 8 times the size.

If it’s twice as tall, twice as long, and twice as wide that doesn’t make it 8 times as big. It makes it twice as big, or two times the original size.
I believe David Ellis confirmed that it was called the Mammonth at one point.

Okay, think about it like this:
It’s twice as long, so that makes 2 Elephants. But it is also twice as tall, so we would need to add another 2 Elephants on top of the previous two. Then we see that it’s twice as wide, so we take those 4 Elephants and put another 4 next to them to make up for the size difference. Which makes 8.

Twice as long doesn’t make 2 elephants it makes 1.5 elephants, it’s 2 times the size of the elephant dude now just shut up and learn math.

You’re thinking about a different way than me. It’s not literally 2 Elephants wide, long, and up. I’m saying it’s as if someone scaled up the whole thing to be about twice as big.
It’s definitely not 8 Elephants.
