Malicious Betrayals

In the game of grifball, betrayals happen. That being said, you really need to have a boot option regardless. Some friggin’ bad kid running around and destroying your K/D, ruining your chances of scoring the objective, and throwing off your win percentage is not what I would possibly regard as fun.

When I run into these kids, I file a complaint for cheating. The definition of cheating according to the complaint outlines is this. “The player used known or unknown in-game or other exploits to influence the results of a game.” That is the closest thing we have to being able to file a complaint against a player for being a total -Yoink-.

I’ll send you film clips, I want the clips to be observed and I want action to be taken. I can deal with a lot of stuff and still overcome the odds. What I can’t deal with is some malicious kid completely taking all fun out of the game. Hell, my team and I betray each other for fun sometimes but we don’t constantly chase each other down and cost the game. That’s where the line is being crossed and it needs to be addressed.

IMO, there are 2 viable alternatives here. A) Put the boot option in grifball or B) Watch the film clips and take some action regarding it. BTW, once you have booted a player, that player can never play on your side in ANY list again unless said player is invited back. That needs to happen.

I betray in griffball if my team are acting like idiots. Other than that I don’t do it.

Yeah but wouldn’t you rather be able to boot the bad kids instead of getting revenge? Betrayals happen, I understand that but the list has gotten almost un-pleasant IMO. Run with a full team is what I do most of the time but sometimes not everyone is around.

They need to do this for infection too. There are always one or more d-bags that kills the team for no reason at all.

For Grifball? Since Halo 3, betrayals have been a part of Grifball. As for Infection, however… Boot zem all!

Absolutely for grifball. Zombies is individual based whereas grifball is team based. Read the thread carefully.

you do realise that with all the morons in REACH, you’ll be booted for ANY Betrayal, weather by accedent or on pourpose

play with a team. I do most of the time. Also it weeds out the intelligent from the tards.

unless you play w/a team, the only thing you can expect from children w/hammers is shenanigans…

this could also be referred to another post I made regarding having 2 lists, 1 competitive and 1 social. Competitive gets a boot option, social does not.

Survivors are on one team, zombies are on the other. Teams.

If you’re playing Grifball for K/D, you’re doing it wrong…

I agree.

In infection, the betrayals are sporadic, but you can quickly find the -Yoink!- who’s behind it… he has a -3 score because he’s betraying a bunch of zombies. Usually I either avoid him or target him and betray him back.

Griffball… I remember this match a month ago where I betrayed someone accidentally and he suddenly kept coming after me, and kept spawn killing me. It ended up turning into a mess for me because the 3 of them were a party and they all teamed up and betrayed me and except for quitting, there wasn’t anything I could do about it. I can’t even remember which game (in my history) it was any more or which guy initiated the betrayals.

Since then I’ve been much less shy about quitting games, and I’ve gotten a number of quit bans because of it. My friends don’t play reach much and the idea of “going in with a party” is the most often mentioned, and doesn’t work for me. The mechanics of the game should not abet (nevermind reward) griefing and the booting system in this game is simply broken, which is why people do it so casually on any playlist (not just the ones I mentioned).

Let me know when you’re in the top %.023 and we’ll talk about how to play the game.

I play to have fun but I also play to win. It’s taken me a loooooong time to learn how to play the game intelligently and it’s starting to pay off nicely. I don’t want bad kids messing up what I’ve worked for. If I have a crap connection, btw, that’s happened all this week with these friggin’ updates jamming up the servers, I’ll bite the bulllet and get the bomb planted regardless. That’s how I roll. Dying because of -yoinks- is NOT an acceptable reason.

Mate thats griffbal if you made them invincible they would fly off the map if you enable betrayal boot then no griffball game will ever finish with a whole team whats the point of a 4v4 game if you have 2v1 instead. think about that it wont work if anything choose the bigger maps it solves the issue more than you think.

Fine by me. I’m good 1v4. I’ve ended up that way several times due to host booting bad kids on opposing teams. So far my record is 8-3. What’s your point?
