Making Matches

I’ve been playing Halo with my entire family since it first came out - my kids are out of the house now and we continue to play together remotely. I love this game and play matchmaking religiously. And while I have watched it go from a fun family game (Halo 3) to one geared toward a different audience, I can still find matchmaking lists that work for me (social fiesta) since I suck so bad. Anyway, the point. Over the years I have complained often of the horrible matchmaking algorithms used in Halo only to find that every new release did really nothing to improve it. Few matches are really good ones and many are just blow outs - because of the bad algorithms. And while I understand the whole concept behind the banhammer, using it to penalize me for leaving a ridiculously matched game simply hides the very incompetencies that 343 has regarding making viable matches. The game is fun, and that’s what keeps pulling me back in. And the req points approach is awesome. But step up guys - banhammer is not an excuse for you to be derelict in your coding. So many other games get this right. I sure hope the next one addresses this issue substantially.
