make yapyap cannon

Yapyap isn’t canon because brutes and elites don’t normally put grunts in charge of anything. However, all of the leaders in any halo wars game should have existed at some point in the Halo timeline and I really like his character. Here is how Yapyap could become canon

Atriox would be impressed with how Yapyap successfully rebelled against his banished commander, so he offered Yapyap a lifetime supply of methane in return for rejoining the banished as a leader(leading the grunts and making them loyal to the banished) instead of cannon fodder. While most banished commanders dislike the idea of a grunt in charge of anything, everyone knows that Yapyap is very effective at rallying the grunts for the banished cause and his tactics of exploding grunts is hilarious.

I thought Yapyap was canon?

He’s not. I don’t remember where, exactly, but I do remember someone from 343 saying he isn’t cannon.

He’s sort of a “joke” character.

Grunts overall are a pretty joke race but they are canon, so him being a joke fits in line with him. I can’t remember 343 saying he wasn’t canon so I at least will believe he is until hearing otherwise.

Would be pretty cool

Yap Yap is not cannon just like Johnson, Serina, Forge, and Arby are not cannon. Came out in a cannon fodder some time ago I think.

They’re all canon just not in the context of multiplayer, same goes for Atriox - Captain Cutter.
Just incase a newer person sees what you wrote and mistaken who’s canon.

Sadly YapYap isn’t canon at all - would be good if he was in the story.

“Don’t ask me how I got here. Its… complicated.” -Forge

Also this is a little nitpicking but “canon” is the word you’re looking for. “Cannon” with two n’s is a weapon.

Breezy I think you misunderstood the post, he isn’t asking if YapYap can be related to the story of Halo, he’s asking for them to make a GIANT cannon that fires little YapYaps! And after one is fired it makes a grunt birthday party noise! Be careful though as they are known for misfiring.
