Ladies and gentlemen, first I would like everyone to cast their eyes back to an early demo of the first Halo War:
This game looked perfect, and compared to what we ended up with I have to say I was a little disappointed it didn’t look the same anymore (cant complain though, 100’s of hours and every chievo out of it).
What I wish for Halo Wars 2 to have is unique colours for enemies, like they have in the FPS Halos. No more completely purple everything for covenant any more. I want to see the variations, and if done right, colours can be uses as ranks once more, instead of star systems. “oh no, a gold elite, that’s a zealot!” “a group of silver grunt ultras, there’s a bit of a challenge!”
Of course, this will only work if we get individual units again, like in that demo, and is something i really hope we get.
More control over building bases would be nice, so you can make a proper base such as the one in the demo, instead of looking like some Lego reject set.
Anyone else hope Halo Wars 2 goes down the route the first game nearly, and should’ve took?
I prefer grouped units, it looked cooler, I like the animation they had when their health was reduced by dying one by one.
Well the video was a demo, and it was way back in 2007 (a little more earlier to be honest by developement).
Today Halo Wars 2 should be like a newer game with more innovation and improvements than before.
Ill be honest, while that version looks more challenging and better art, it doesn’t look as fun. I personally would not enjoy Halo Wars as a game that consisted of one huge long battle in a small map. The thing that made Halo Wars fun for me is experimenting with different game plans every game and hundreds of short battles in a massive map creating a push for land and control. Then again this gameplay only showed 1v1 combat and that may be more enjoyable for you.

It still turned out quite well, but then you compare to the e3 demo and it’s like where is that game and where do I buy it.
