If you haven’t noticed, the strafe in Reach is no where near past Halo games like CE and H2. In those games, with a good enough strafe you could take down an enemy down even if you have no shields. It happens in Reach sometimes, but definitely not as often as CE and H2. Rarely do you see two enemies shooting at you in the same time and dodging all their bullets with the strafe we have right now, it just happens rarely.
But if you had a good enough strafe around CE’s or even H2’s, you could definitely out do your opponents if you have a good aim and a great strafe.
My proposal is to make gametypes for Flag, KoTH, Slayer, etc with no bloom and a much crisper strafe
I really think the competitive crowd would love this, it definitely makes the skill gap much larger then it is right now. Its also an option , so for whatever reason the casuals have for not wanting a crisper strafe, they don’t have to play that game type.
120 movement speed is a step in the right direction. It’s easier to strafe but it’s funny some of people on here are pushing for 100 movement speed. You can’t strafe at all with those settings.
In 110, the strafe is actually more responsive then 120. But in 120 you generally just miss more shots, and weapons like the Sniper are much harder to use skillfully. 100 should never be an option in a competitive play list like MLG though
Even with 200 grav, the strafe is still no where near as close to CE or even H2. The strafe doesn’t even get a huge boost in being responsive with 200 grav, at least none that I have seen
Whatever 343i decides upon must be some kind of increased movement besides 100% because strafing really allows the Bloomless weapons to shine better and allow more skill within battles between players. I have played with the 120% movement speed and 200% gravity and it does feel quite amazing.
Strafing does need to become important to the game and the playlists later in the future.

Definitely man, 120 is definitely the way to go in this game (with no AA’s). All we really need is a great strafe and I would be really happy.
yeah thats the biggest thing holding this gam back in my opinion. Now that bloom is gone, this game could be really sweet, but as ling as the strafe remains the way it is, there will be a glass ceiling on skill gap. unfortunately I doubt were going to get anything to address this issue…sad. Looks like ill be playing MW3 or BF3 soon
strafe needs to be more responsive, this game has benefited so much from the TU and now this small change will allow it to be one of the best online shooters on xbox live
if you look in my fileshare you can see how the strafes work on 110 speed and 120 speed with different gravity settings:

Exactly. Something on 343’s end needs to be done to make the strafe faster. As of right now someone misses simply because they miss. Where as in Halo 2 and CE a strafe could actually make someone miss.

No, there would be no acceleration at all. There would be no speeding up to the top speed in strafe you would just instantly already be there.
