Please. For the love of God. Increase the penalty for leaving a game. I’m sick and tired of getting out into a game in progress because some -Yoink- can’t deal with losing. I played for an hour and a half today between warzone and fiesta, couldn’t get a single win. Why? Because every time I got into a round where we were losing by a significant margin. THAT’S NOT MY PROBLEM. Why should it go down as a loss on my record because some -Yoink- started a game, got their butt kicked, and just left?
My suggestion is you can leave one game in a calendar week. It’s -Yoink- to keep this going. I understand I keep getting in these games because I’m playing alone, but this is retarded.
You do realize the backlash this would cause right? Sure you could increase the penalty, causing less players to quit and being able to play; what about people who aren’t leaving on purpose, they’re just getting disconnected, either due to their own internet or if they’re in a different region? If you increase the penalty from leaving a game, these players would lose incentive to play the game, which from a company standpoint, that is not something that 343i wants to happen. You then have the chance of some people going to the forums to complain about this penalty, potentially causing many arguments. I understand your frustration with people leaving games, but jumping to a conclusion of straight up punishing them because you got upset playing isn’t a strong selling, also it appears you were playing in social playlists, which is to be expected in those playlists. In terms of the loss being added to your record, one thing I think that could work is something I’ve seen done in Black Ops. 3, where if you join a game in progress and you or your team wins, it’s counted as a win; if you or your team loses however, the game doesn’t count it as a loss because it recognized that you join the match after it started.

Okay, you brought up some good points. I didn’t specify, but I don’t mean a permaban, I’m just saying you can leave like three games in a row and receive a mere ten minute ban. That’s stupid. I never thought I’d say this, but 343 oughtta try out what BO3 does. I just think it’s stupid that people leave, I get sucked into that game for two minutes so we can finish getting out butts handed to us, and then it counts as a loss on my record and makes it look like I suck. Which I kind of do but not that bad. In the last few days I’ve had my internet crap out on me three times (while we were winning too, smh…) and I still haven’t been banned. I see no reason for you to receive a ban on the account of internet troubles, but intentionally leaving when your team is losing by a significant margin? Absolutely. Dish out a 30-minute ban. Dish out a 1-hour ban if they turn around and do it again.
