currently I’m trying to create a classic playlist based on Halo 2 and Halo 3 maps but for a loadout weapon I wanted to add in the Tactical magnum as its range isn’t ruined by ADS but I can only use the H2 BR. Please can someone who works at 343 pass this onto Tom French and the forge team as this is a very minor complaint at best.
You can add it at all the spawn points through forge and then players pick it up when they spawn. But unfortunately, you can’t set them as loadouts weapons.

Thats bull crap, they should able to be a loadout.
I would like to see this implemented too.
You do realize the range is the exact same as the standard magnum, the ADS is 2X just like the Tactical magnum, the only difference is that one has the classic zoom mechanic, the gun fighter only has a 1X magnification and would not be a good choice for a classic playlist unless it is a pick up due to its high rate of fire and still being a perfect 5 shot.
As a side note, the ADS only affects fully automatic weapons by making bullet spread slightly less, this same thing happened with the silenced SMG in ODST, people like to forget this, precision weapons are un affected aside from the boost in range but every precision weapon has had a scope in past Halo’s so that is nothing new, the only difference being there is a unrealistic animation (seriously how do they get their helmets that close to their weapons??!?) and you can still see the weapon.

I just wanted a magnum that had a scope function without aiming down a sight. I have considered the gunfighter magnum as a choice though although I don’t think it would go well with Halo 3 maps since it wasn’t in the game and it gives players more view than the odsg pistol (scope blocks off part of your field of view).
For the time being, I would set it in spawn, and just hope that the players go by the honor system and pick it up before going out to fight.

The Gunfighter is actually a six shot perfect kill, not a 5. It still kills a bit faster than the base magnum, but actually does less damage per shot.

I haven’t used it that much myself, but isn’t it not possible to get a perfect kill with the gunfighter?

I was referring to the fastest possible precision kill, but I do think that the Gunfighter is glitched to where a perfect kill is impossible last I heard. My hypothesis is that 343 didn’t change its base perfect kill requirement from the base magnum, so the Gunfighter thinks it can be a 5 shot kill minimum (perfect) but in actually can take no less than six in core multiplayer.

If you’re doing that. Just set spawns for the weapons.
