Make the GAMEPLAY like Halo 3.

First of all I would like to say that this is my personal opinion and I live in The Netherlands so my English is not fantastic.

After playing Halo 3 since the release date Halo reach came out on September 14, 2010. Reach was so much different from what I was used to in Halo 3 in means of gameplay. The new health system, armor abilities and bloom. So in my opinion reach wasn’t a success at all. It didn’t have the “halo” feeling and charisma. After a month of playing reach I came back to Halo 3 and it felt so much better. Overall Halo 3 was played way more than Halo Reach just because it’s gameplay and you really could improve yourself. I really hope that Halo 4 will give me the same feeling as Halo 3 gave me in terms of gameplay. And I hope that they learned from Halo Reach.

Thanks,

A huge Halo 3 fan!

Halo 4 will be using the Reach engine, but remember: Engine=/=gameplay. The engine is what is possible. Frankie said it’s a Halo game at heart so no worries

P.S- Your English is pretty much perfect

Halo 2 > Halo 3

Sorry, but random spread was the most annoying thing after bloom in the world.

If it gets removed then yes.

i will never understand people clamoring for new game play to “be like [insert game of choice here].”

i want Halo 4 to be Halo 4. i DON’T want a remake of a prior game, i don’t want game play to be like any prior game, i want something new. if i want H3 game play, i’ll pop that game in (and have more and more often lately.) as much fun as H3 is, i don’t necessarily think it has super awesome amazeballs game play. quite the opposite, in fact.

I agree that the game must have new aspects I just want the gameplay to be the same. The old Halo feeling.

I agree. Halo 2 IMO was Halo at it’s finest.

My friends and I still play Halo 3 religiously while our Reach game is collecting dust somewhere.

What I am so disappointed is that they would allow the anniversary maps to be polluted with these jet packs… etc etc. If they are intending to keep it original, using the Reach engine wasn’t the way to go.

Change for the sake of change ruins the game.

I hope 343 realize what a mistake Reach was and stop utilizing it in future iterations of Halo.

In the mean time, we’ll still be soldering on inside ODST’s multiplayer.

CE > Halo 2

come@me

Yes, I agree that Halo 3 should eb the buliding blocks in which to build off of. That said Here’s what I would like:

-Grenades: Perfect, but I would like the Halo 2 physics back for the plasma grenades
-Movement speed and Jump Height: Perfect
-Keep the game vibrantly colored
-Keep the field of vision to promote awareness
-Allow for more games to function with carbine starts to mix it up.
-Buff the pistol to have no spread, but with the same RoF as H3, hitscan, and a 2x zoom. The weapon can then be used as a starting weapon and serve as an alternative to BR/AR/Carbine starts.
-NO LOADOUTS
-NO ARMOR ABILITIES
-Equipment was a nice touch to Halo 3, IMO. I would like a little more variety in equipment, and have it all serve in the core gameplay (avoid glitches in the equipment like the flare, radar jammer, portable cover, etc.)
-KEEP THE BR. Weapon is perfect as-is and will be great and compliment the increas in carbine and pistol starts, and whatever other weapon you guys decide to add, if any.
-A mild increase in the weapon sandbox
-Buff the plasma pistol tracking
-Dedicated servers for ranked would nearly guarantee my purchase

Disregard. I didn’t see the interview. I apologize for my ignorance.

I disagree with you to some extent. The movement speed should be higher than the speed of Halo 3. Movement acceleration should also be much smaller. The BR should also revert to the Halo 2 BR. The Halo 3 BR just wasn’t as good and consistent as it should have been, the spread shouldn’t have existed and the weapon should have been hitscan.

The weapon sandbox of Halo 3 was also pretty awful. Most weapons were useless. For example, I would like to have the Reach Plasma Pistol instead of the one in Halo 3. More weapons also need to actually be useful, and we need more weapons like the Grenade Launcher that actually add an interesting twist and have big skill gaps.

In the end, I’d say that they should use the mechanics of Halo 2 as reference instead of the ones in Halo 3. Because in reality, Halo 3 was just a worse version of Halo 2 with some additions.

Better yet, make it play like Halo 2.

But at the very least, make it play like a Halo game, for -Yoinks!- sake. Don’t make another Reach.

Wrong. It’s using a modified reach engine, which is a modified halo 3 engine, which is a modified halo 2 engine, which is a modified halo ce engine.

I agree with this, it reminds me on how Lee Perry said for Gears 3 to be “not gears 1 or gears 2, but gears 3”. I don’t want that cod feel where I think that I just bought a map pack for $60, Halo 4 shouldn’t be just a rehash.

Not saying it should be as different as reach though, that was way off the halo line.

If you all want a brand new game, you’re asking for another crappy game like Reach.

343i’s slogan is “to keep halo ‘Halo’”

They can easily do this by making Halo 4 play like H2 and H3, the core games of Halo online multiplayer.

Reach was a huge disappointment because it shifted too far away from Halo gameplay. I have faith in 343 in 2012.

Are you just trolling or something?? When did Frankie say this??? If this is true then I am now scared for Halo4. I hope they can still make the graphics a lot better then Reach, and I really hope they bring those rich Halo colours back, Reach was to dull. If this is true, then why not upgrade the engine like every other new Halo game?? Doesn’t this break tradition or something??

I really hope they make halo4 a sequel to halo3(I mean gameplay wise).

He’s talking about the core gameplay, whereas you appear to be arguing content.
If you truly want “different gameplay” then go play a different game.

@OP
Agreed and according to Frankie, it will be true to the Halo franchise so all we can do is wait and hope that

  1. He’s a man of his word
    and
  2. Someone else doesn’t come in and divert from that path

And btw, your English is great

Why most of the people can’t accept that franchises EVOLVE and can’t be all the same all the time?

Sorry,i would love Halo 4 if the final game is like Halo 3,but i would love it more if it’s like Halo 4.

Mi personal opinion

Evolving is fine, the issue that people have is that the evolution went something like this:

H1: Charmander
H2: Charmeleon
H3: Charizard
Reach: Magikarp

Hopefully that 'karp will at least turn into a Gyarados with H4.
