I don’t see why the maps (the DLC) isn’t required to play online. I’m playing on an Xbox One and was able to download them for free, so surely other people can download for free as well? If this is the case, I think the DLC should be made a mandatory thing.
Not only because there are lots of achievements that are nearly impossible to get, but it varies the map selection more as well. It keeps things fresh. Have 343i just forgotten about Reach at this point? Is anyone working on it at all?

I would definitely be in support of this, but I am doubtful. There has been no sign of 343 supporting Reach any longer for years now (other than keeping the servers going and periodic server and emulator maintenance). Even something as small as this is unlikely.
I find it frustrating as well to not see any DLC maps in matchmaking despite the fact that they are free. Even worse, I paid for the DLC about 2 years ago, and have only played on a handful of maps. Most often when DLC maps do come up, they almost never get voted for.
And I prefer to do the achievements by myself or with friends, and not with randoms. So getting the achievements is difficult to say the least.

I wouldn’t mind if there was one playlist will all game types and maps available, but I don’t even think the defiant maps are available to play on at all, let alone anniversary maps.
I wish 343i would force these maps for everyone. If they’re free there’s no excuse really. Sucks they’ve abandoned this game.

It does suck there’s not a whole lot of support for the game, but they don’t have much of a business case to do so. I’m with you though. Making the DLC mandatory since it’s free seems like a natural step.
simmilar feeling here . Not only i think these are good maps but i also payed for them. Back then i could play them because they had a dedicatet DLC playlist and with the high population here and there i came into a match with people who had them to and we could vote for them and it was hell of fun. Now the only thing i can reliably play is the low population aniversary 4v4 playlist (btb got removed too lol). And evrything not aniversary is like always 90% forge world . its basicly the same story with classic halo 3 it seems like no one noticed they got free so i still stuck in playing team slayer etc or MCC.
It’s especially a shame because they went through the trouble to make the DLC free, they gave this ‘gift’ to the community, and some people are hyped about it. But then, … You can hardly ever play them.
If (nearly) everybody had DLC, getting the Multiplayer Achievements would be awesome. Hunting for specific feats. in Halo Multiplayer is super cool, it’s sad that I only got to do that with Halo 3 really (Halo: Reach & Halo 4 DLC have been unplayable whenever I tried).

Yeah, that would be great. And I’m just a layman, but wouldn’t that be literally as simple as finding the text somewhere, cutting it out, and pasting in other text?
