Make the dlc maps free

Theres no reason to charge users for a dlc pack almost 7 years after launch. Halo Reach is a great title but it released with too few maps, throwing the dlc maps out for free would spice up the playlists. It’s not like people who would buy the maps now would be able to play them.

well there is one reason i can think of…

they want every little bit of money than can acquire…

They aren’t acquiring any money, nobody is going to buy maps that they will never play on.

The one disappointing thing to me about 343 is their reluctance to release any of the aging DLC for free. Bungie did it for both Halo 2 and Halo 3, but once 343 took over they’ve bascially been full price, all of the time.

For the people that do buy it, it’s a nice source of income off something where you have to put literally no work into it.

I would be surprised…this is the equivalent to throwing money into a fireplace.

I support this. I was actually going to make a post about this but it said error everytime I tried to post then it deleted itself when I tried to refresh.

But I strongly support giving out OLD DLC’s for games that are REALLY fricking old
so c’mon 343 give us some love

some people just want to own everything generally a form of ocd and there are those that just play against each other slpitscreen

YES!!! This x1000. I can’t believe that you guys are still charging full price for these packs. Shame on you. Had no problem unifying the Halo 4 experience(or lack there of) for MCC. Let the Reach community be unified for once! I stick up for 343i in the wild yet you guys pull crap like this. Just sad I can’t share this experience with my friends who didn’t play Reach unless they pay $35, about three times the entire games used value, for a handful of awesome maps! Ridiculous!

Like for real. I bought the season passes for both Reach and 4 and honestly it makes me sad as some of the best maps are in the dlc

I bought all the dlc map. but i think they should be cheaper

Either that or make a monthly rotational playlist that features the different map packs. Seriously first thing 343 did when they took over was to remove the Reach DLC playlist and then add the stupid TU playlists which are honestly dead as far as population goes when compared to the population of the dlc playlist.

True. It’d attract some folks back to Reach as well, myself included. I think the game should just be free at this point if it could create even a semblance of the community it deserves. Definitely one of my favorite games of all time.

Reach didn’t have a season pass

I’m afraid most of your criticisms of 343 in this case are false. 343 had actually taken the wheel on Reach by the time the DLC dropped, and can be credited for any DLC playlists. Aside from making some achievements too hard to get, they did a good job. When Halo CEA dropped, they expanded this with the new Anniversary playlists and TU playlists, but unfortunately removed the classic halo and community btb playlists in the weeks prior while rolling in the ZB playlist. I do believe there was an additional DLC playlist that was removed, but the one that had a notable population was left alone into 2012, although it pulled noticeably low populations. And although the TU squad playlist never saw any population, the other TU playlists did absolutely fine, especially the new TU btb. It actually went over surprisingly well. You’d think such a massive change would be divisive but it was mostly well received, and the only issue I really had with it was they reduced the frequency at which you’d play Paradiso, but they made up for it with all of the community maps being brought into btb, team slayer, grif ball, invasion and others, although many of which were also to Bungie’s credit from the past, or at least originated in the community playlists which they had established. I also want to personally thank the -Yoink- at 343 who made multi-team have teams of 3 instead of 2. I love you, whoever you are. The only changes they made to Reach which I was really upset with were as they approached the release of Halo 4. That’s when they decided to cut the last DLC playlist, Anniversary btb, added zombie ghosts, removed some more firefight playlists, and then dropped off support for the game entirely. The Reach community was vibrant long past the release of Halo 4, and once it leveled out from the flux of people that left to play the newer title, the population seemed pretty steady until late 2014 (I have don’t hard stats on this but I mostly remember using the typically lower population of the invasion playlist to gauge where it was at). Anyway, my point with how alive it was is the fact that it should have still had support past the release of Halo 4. New, excellent maps were made that should have been incorporated into matchmaking, bringing back some playlists as a rotation would have been nice so you could get the achievements, and the free DLC is no less than 4 years overdue at this point as far as I’m concerned. The community was strong enough that it deserved some attention from 343 and its a shame it got next to none.

BTB did fine because it is BTB and the TU is the only option for BTB. If there was a BTB playlist without the TU I am sure the TU btb would be a dead land. There was a dlc playlist before 343 took over. When they took over they did testing of the zero bloom and title update. They also released more dlc maps and ce anniversary. There were a few times that they took down and then put up the dlc playlist. There was a fan base for the tu but they judged it to be about 50 50 so they split the community. As you can plainly see those that liked the TU mostly must have moved on because the only game type that is both available as classic and tu is played almost entirely on the classic settings. I highly disliked the tu and they removed the dlc playlist even though tu slayer has a lower population than the dlc playlist ever had. The way they did CE anniversary mp was bad too. They should have had the halo reach maps play just like halo reach instead of trying to copy CE gameplay. They should have released CE anni with online multiplayer available like they did in the MCC. Reach was used by 343 as a test bed for their ideas about game play and used it to form their plans for halo 4. Halo 3 still has it’s dlc playlist because bungie did not take dlc playlists away.

I think the TU playlists are dead because there is no explanation of what they are and 343i kept the vanilla playlists. Think about it, if you polled the players playing reach rn and asked them “what 343i did in the TU update 6 years ago?” I’d imagine a large majority are not as well informed on the topic as you and me. I personally think the tu improved the game, but the topic isn’t about that it’s about making the dlc free so that we can actually enjoy a product with all of it’s post lauch content. I’m not asking 343i to shuffle the playlist and remove dead ones I’m just asking for Microsoft to make the map packs free, they’re making enough money on the microtransactions they put in every game they work on anyway what’s the big deal on 3 map packs.

Yup making the maps free would solve the problem of needing a dlc playlist as they would show up in the other playlists, however I don’t think they will do it. IDK why exactly but that’s how it is. I wonder who gets the money from the bungie made dlc is it 343 or bungie?

hey 343 LISTEN TO YOUR COMMUNITY

I just bought these Map Packs and can’t even enjoy them because half the population doesn’t have them. I feel ripped off.

Even though I just paid for these, I wouldn’t care if they were made free tomorrow. I just want to play on these maps and hunt these damn achievements down.

LET ME LIVE, 343
