MAKE THE ASSAULT RIFLE 60 BULLETS AGAIN!

Ever since Halo CE, Fans have not been able to wield an Assault rifle that was as powerful and sounded as good. In Halo 4 i like the look,feel, and sound of the Assault but you have to make it 60 bullets again! because think about it! If we have custom loadouts no one is going to be wanting to choose an Assault Rifle over the DMR or BR, The only thing that would make the Assault rifle as big and bad as it was as standard weapon in the first Halo would be to make it 60 bullets again. Please 343 for the love of God! since the AR has bloom it is almost impossible to get two kills with it and it takes a whole clip just to kill one person in Halo Reach.

Since the AR has apparently been re-purposed as a dedicated close-quarters weapon it at least needs dish out enough damage to compete with the Storm Rifle.

In the game play it looks perfect for a secondary / backup gun ALTHOUGH im sure many people will useit like a starting gun.

Besides, people spray AR on Multiplayer enough without them having more than enough of a clip to kill two and a half people.

why can’t I just have the SMG instead?

and obviously you haven’t played CE Multiplayer in a long time: you get 60 bullets yes, but it takes 40-50 of them to kill someone. the 32 bullet AR is basically what the 60 bullet AR was. you basically already have what you’re asking.

How about make it easily mop up non-shielded people?

Keep the Storm Rifle for anti-shield and AR for a mop-up weapon.

I think that makes sense given the traditional Halo Rock-Paper-Scissors system of plasma/shield/bullet/health.

The DMR can kill 3 people in 1 clip. Why can’t the AR?

Because the DMR is precision weapon. If you give the AR the ability to kill three people in one clip, you just get spraying everywhere. In what world should an automatic weapon have that kind of power in a Halo sandbox? It kills balance.

i really want the 60 round AR to come back, not enough Machine guns in the game

In campaign, AR ammo needs to be plentiful if it’s going to be the same as the mp AR (32 clip size).

It’d be nice to do a Gears of War 3 kind of thing and use both the standard Assault Rifle and the older, stubbier MA5B model, and maybe the MA37 from Halo: Reach.

From what I have seen the AR does need some love but 60 rounds is not necessary given other aspects of the weapon. The Storm Rifle seems fine and does well in its niche but the AR can’t seem to finish the job.

It could use a little damage buff and slower blooming(but faster retraction to encourage burst fire) to put it in line with the Storm Rifle. I hope that any AR buff does not come at the expense of the storm rifle like the Repeater in Reach following the ARs buff.

The AR does seem pretty useless now. I have found little use for it except in Halo 1 against unshielded opponents.

As long as it still takes 16 bullets to kill an opponent (like in H3) and not 18 (Like in Reach) then I am fine with it. MLG Footage shows them utilizing the AR or Storm Rifle every now and then for close ups if they don’t already own a Pistol.

AR needs the balance where they have now; less skill to use, shorter clip per kill you get. Weaps like BR and DMR,; more skill to use effectively, larger clip per kill you get.

In fact Halo 4 is the first Halo game where there are 4 non-Sniper Rifle related headshot capable weapons in the sandbox. (Pistol, BR, DMR, Carbine). All other Halos had a max of 3. (Pistol BR Carbine / Pistol DMR NR). So at I happy I can still get more weapon variety in scoring headshots. I don’t hate the AR, but if there’s any buff it’s gotta be minor, like maybe 35 bullets per clip or it takes 1 bullet less to kill a player, or something, as the AR and its Covenant counterpart(PR/SR) has always been secondary to the headshot weaps because there’s a additional layer of challenge in using headshot weaps, as scoring a headshot with those weaps can make a difference between who kills the other player first. (I.e. 4 BR headshots v.s. 7? BR body shots).

Maybe it should take about 30-40 bullets to kill someone while you have a 60 round clip.

Then you have extra ammo left over and it doesn’t take the whole clip.
