Not sure why i have this idea rolling around in my head, but if the last 3 bullets of the AR were 10% stronger I think this would compensate for it’s small clip size and make people more focused on shooting their gun rather than rushing in for a melee. I’m sure a lot of people would complain about that and want all the other guns to do the same thing…but i think if the AR was the only one that worked that way, it’d be fine. Other guns like the pistol/BR would have the last 3 bullets slow down a vehicles speed by 10% per bullet, or 15% higher damage to a vehicle…
And it’d be stupid for people to run around with just the last 3 bullets in their clip because if they missed, or hit, they’d still have to reload and make an open window for the other player
I’d rather have a larger magazine.
Huh. Interesting. Reminds me of Metal Gear Solid 1’s FAMAS. The last three bullets were “tracer rounds” and you could see where they fired.

Interesting idea, but i don’t like it wouldn’t feel “Halo” “in my opinion” i played gears and you get stronger shots if you get an active reload so it would feel almost like gears in regards to the last 3 bullets being stronger and what not but never the less still an interesting idea to throw into the mix.
I’m getting the Gears of War “perfect reload” vibe from this, but I agree it wouldn’t work for Halo. I do like the idea of a bigger clip, though I wouldn’t want to go anywhere near as high as Halo CE’s 60 rounds. I think even 35 or so rather than 32 could work (and hey 343, it’s divisible by seven if you’re going to carry that on).
give me a 100 round mag, with the AR’s damage that should be about what, 2 kills.

The assault rifle is designed to be a suppressor.
Fire away at your hearts content to knock the aim of the DMR, or as will be in Halo 4 the BR.
You make it more powerful or give it a larger clip then we have a situation where the precision weapons like the DMR’s and BR’s are absolutely useless at mid range.

No it wouldn’t. You would just be rewarded for running at them from further away (Because it would take time for you to fire) and then meleeing them.

No it wouldn’t! You just created one of the most overpowered guns in the game.

This makes no sense. In what world could you justify a pistol doing more damage to a tank just because you didn’t reload?

Wait around a corner until you see somebody on your motion sensor, pop out, spray them down (With increased damage, mind), go back around the corner, reload quickly, come back round the corner and spray them down again.
Sounds interesting, but I think increased damage or a larger clip would work a little better, however.

How about we go back to the MA5B from Combat Evolved. 60 round mag. It worked on the PC if you were good enough to keep on target then you could kill someone with one clip. the balancing factor was it was so inaccurate you had to earn a one mag kill.
60 round magazine with a bit less damage than the Halo 3 AR did and problem solved… that way killtimes are slightly longer than in H3 but you would have a better chance against more than 1 enemy at a time…
not overpowered cuz the other play could still kill you with well placed BR shots, and not to week because over all you can do more damage with 1 mag than the Halo 3 AR can.
I can’t stand the Ar in Reach. Please, just buff the damage or increase clip. I hate those deaths where you get a full clip in, only to pop his shields with half health damage, and then you die because your clip ran out right on the verge of a kill.
That really wouldn’t make much sense in my opinion.

NO! We don’t need the human weapons to be more powerful than they already are. But I will admit that the AR or any auto gun shouldn’t take a whole clip just to take them out. It should only take 25% of the ammo or less. Plus for the whole vehicle thing should not work for human weapons. Because to me I don’t see how a little bullet should be able to flip or slow down a warthog. Now a Covenant plasma gun or a Forerunner energy weapon would make more since but a little bullet no!
