In the beta we could see that there were different types of importance in the coatings and armor skins and everything related to the customization of the game, such as rare, common and legendary, among others. In my opinion it would be an excellent idea that customizable items such as the prize of 152, which is the watchdog coating and weapon skins, as others obtainable by payment, such as funko pop and megaconstrux sets, without forgetting the past promotions of brands such as the most famous Monster Energy, that these have a rarity called “EXCLUSIVE”, because these can not be obtained in the game of any except by paying or getting the level 152, which would be in my opinion the most exclusive customizable and unique in obtaining, What do you think of this, and do you think 343 make it happen?
I don’t think they will do that because it was already stated that most of what you listed are only “temporary exclusive contract content” that would more than likely be added to the game after 12-24 months outside of the promos they came from.
From what I remember reading:
343 said that the requirements to obtain items will be clear and there would only be 1 way to obtain them.
If something was available for purchase in the store, it would not be earnable via gameplay, and vice versa.
I would assume the 152 coating is only available by getting to 152.
Promotional items from partnerships with other brands remains an unknown - it’s possible those might become available in an online store for purchase.
If that’s they case, it’s not really a problem to be honest, it’s the same as having purchased that third party product.
What do you think?
What’s your time worth?
When the promos first started dropping there was silence, but eventually I believe they said promos would be exclusive for like 3 months and then available for purchase.
That’s fair to the brand partners and those that spent money obtaining the DLCs with the brand partner, but then later anyone could pay in game for it. I assume brands would still get a cut of in store purchases, again also fair to the brands if so.
Almost certainly they aren’t going to allow someone to “buy” 152 items. Those items are earned and are supposed to be a token of appreciation to those that spent so much time on their last game. I can’t see that later being released in the store.
Whether 343 decides to label 152 cosmetics as legendary or a special category, everyone is going to know it can’t be bought. Other “exclusive” cosmetics earned in infinite gameplay should be the same. It can be legendary or common, but won’t be available in the store to purchase.
Maybe instead of “exclusive”, 343 can denote somewhere that the item was “earned”, “gifted by”, a “store” purchase or some other means. That would be neat to see IMO.
152 reward better be ONLY for those who have hit 152 and never make it available any other way.

I think we’re on to something here in that having the items that are obtained through special means have some kind of label or category that indicates it would be a benefit.

Maybe label, category, and or a slight variation.
Example: if it’s the 152 gift, then maybe put 152 somewhere on it. However it’s done, I agree 100% that it needs to be indicated how it was obtained!

It must be exclusive! It was so hard to get my SR152! We need to have at least one thing that will be exclusive. All Halos had that! Halo Reach Legendary Edition Armor Effect, Halo 5 Olives Helmet, etc
I agree, an exclusive challenge is ideal. However, sometimes the best approach to securing the most important element is through a compromise/happy medium.

Completely agree with this. I want my unlock to mean something like Vidmasters did with Recon.

Yup it would completely undermine the grind if they gave it some other way.

Exactly and it would just come off as disrespectful.
I don’t think it would be disrespectful if they label it how you got it or created variations that indicated how it was obtained. So long as it’s clear how the item was obtained, that’s what’s most important.

Yeah I agree entirely, if we had to grind our butts off for years we should be given those skins exclusively
Why are some 152s acting so entitled? The skins or whatever we receive in Infinite from achieving 152 in H5 is not a reward! It’s a token of appreciation. We only found out about this like 18 months ago, so it’s not as if anyone was grinding for 3+ years to get an infinite skin.
The reward for achieving 152 in H5 is the rank 152 and a req pack. Nothing more, nothing less. Now 343 is giving out a bonus gift and the future recipients are trying to dictate who and for what it’s given? I understand you want your 152 grind to mean something and it does, in H5.
How many 153s do you hear clamoring about how the skin should only be for us? Come on man.
