I think this is an idea everyone can agree with. Team colors should be map specific. Red and blue are great, but there are some maps where this gives one team or another an advantage, such as one with tons of reddish rock walls or bluish metallic backdrops. I was thinking on maps like these you can have teams of green and yellow or whatever stands out the most on the map. It should add some neat variety to the game too. Thoughts?
Um… no I like RvB. Its a Halo staple, so it should stay.
Wouldn’t that complicate the process of setting up gametypes?
It’d be better for them to just not make maps that overwhelmingly favor one team color over another. Basically, nothing that looks like a Zealot remake. :\
I don’t really think it’ll work. It has it’s advantages, but it’ll probably be too complicated to set up.

Dilly is right people. No, because the color schemes would be automatically determined based on each map. It really makes sense…think about how well some colors match the level. Sometimes red sticks out like a soar thumb but the blue team almost melts into the backdrop.

That’s a good point that there is a lot of tradition in Red vs Blue. I think the question is, just because something has always been done one way, does that mean it should always stay that way if it isn’t the best way? To me making things more visible is more of a priority, but I can see that to some it wouldn’t be. I guess it’s kind of like random battles in rpg’s - it’s a feature that’s a relic from the first games in the genre and changing it might improve gameplay but a lot of people will feel it’s not an rpg anymore.

I would think it would be a super simple setup. It’s just another option in map settings in forge - default team colors. You could also change it when creating a custom game type. I would think this would be easier to setup than trying to craft an entire map so it can’t have any blue or red backdrops. It also adds variety and eliminates a limitation map designers have had in Halo for a long time - color schemes that can’t match player colors.
