I’m a simple man with one simple desire, tactical slayer BR. The new tactical slayer modes are cool but give the their own playlist, I don’t want to play gamemode roulette.
Tactical slayer BR (and with DMR in previous games) was my favorite, that’s all I want to play.
Am I being unreasonable, should I just accept this change and go play something else until they turn this game around?

Replace TS with SWAT and only have DMR’s as a base mode then have BR’s and SWATnums as secondary modes. Mangler slayer is a fate I wouldn’t wish on my worst’est enemy

I really enjoyed the new weapons for the event.
But I don’t think they should be core in Tactical Slayer.
By all means have regular week nights or weekends to bring them back. But the core experience should be BR.
And that’s from somebody who pretty much doesn’t play Tac Ops.

I was going to say keep them, because it adds some variety. But if they take away challenges that require me to play the mode, then I don’t care.
I liked swat more in previous games, but really don’t in Infinite. I was wondering if turning off sprint might bring back some of the old methodical feeling. Everyone darting around, jumping, and sliding kind of kills the mood.

YES!!! I can’t stand the new variable weapons that SUCK. I’m an old school Swat player and HATE this crap. They have RUINED the game. I have always played Swat for the BR’s and DMR’s and stay away from the goofy crap in regular slayer. 343 CAHNGE IT BACK! WHY CHANGE IT???

Variants have existed within the SWAT playlist since SWAT magnums in Halo 3. In all honesty the weapons used really aren’t bad, they’re really just spammy at worst.
The rotation could use some work to be perfectly honest, I’ve personally been trying to get a Stalker Rifle game to try it out and just can’t seem to get lucky. Maybe daily favoritism gravitating towards one mode? Every two rounds of the daily mode within a playlist guarantees a variant you haven’t gotten?

I get where you’re coming from, but I like a little variety and really enjoyed all these fresh versions of the classic game mode.
What if 343 gave BR Swat a hefty weight in the rotation? Something like a 70/30 in favor of BRs.

It’s unanimously agreed SK shouldn’t be in SWAT.
But here’s one reason I don’t want variant SWAT ever:
I don’t want to play Ranked to clear BR challenges, and I don’t want to have to fight with my team over the BR.
That’s literally it. Until challenge system gets a revamp, BR SWAT is the only place you can reliably clear any and all BR challenges. I don’t want to have to roll the dice even in SWAT playlist ffs. And you really think 343 is able to add another Variant SWAT playlist?
Here’s what I think about playlist anyway:
Everything core to Halo is in matchmade playlist, everything else should be action sack in the first place. Fiesta doesn’t need its own matchmaking playlist and neither does Attrition. It’s high time they just shoved all these modes into Action Sack, just like older Halos.

Just as they forgot to add the modes in the first place, I’m sure they have also forgotten to remove them as well. It’s interesting that these modes which were the highlight of an in game event have stuck around. Yet modes like attrition, which were also tied to an event, were removed the moment it was over.
Inconsistency is synonymous with 343.

really, given the source spagettie 343 claims the engine is… at this point it’s too much to ask for them to have individual playlists and no rng to get the one you want. just go and play something else at this point. ya ain’t being unreasonable… it’s just the companies themselves. welcome to modern halo, at this point don’t support it

People don’t take too kindly to law enforcement these days so we had to come up with a euphemism to sell the name to the kids- “Tactical Slayer”
In the golden years, a fellow had a BR and a Magnum. Nowadays he has all these newfangled “Manglers” and “Stalker Rifles” and whatchamacallems.
I tell you what son, they dont make these gametypes like they used to. No siree

These are good.
SIDEKICK SWAT and STALKER SWAT are bad.

BR SWAT and Sidekick SWAT are great. Mangler and Commando are beyond bad in SWAT.
A lot of the problems this game has would be easily solved if 343 allowed us to pick what specific game mode we want to play.

I’d often play a few rounds of SWAT at the end a long night of ranked to relax because I knew what I was going to get - headshots with BRs.
Now who knows? I’m not saying I don’t like the other weapons in SWAT (not you, mangler). It’s just no longer what I want. They fixed something that wasn’t broken.

I mostly only play swat too. BR, DMR (former Halo) and occasional pistols were okay with me. These other guns are horrible. I waited for the 22nd to come thinking it would go back to the BR, but they kept it. I killed more than I died by far with the other weapons, so it isn’t me whining that I cannot do it, I just don’t like it. Bordering on hating it even.

I don’t like how they just made these other weapons part of the game without announcing it. Either that or are they just so damn incompetent that they “forgot” to remove them??

I couldn’t agree more. I miss the hell out of SWAT and was hyped when I found Tactical Slayer. Now, I’ve already made peace with the BR replacing the DMR, but these new game types are the worst. I thought they’d end after the Tactical Slayer event, but they stayed. WHY??? I’ll tolerate the Sidekick and Commando Rifle game modes, but please for the love off all things, END THE STALKER RIFLE AND MANGLER GAME TYPES!!! They’re the asbsolute worst and I swear I just played like 20 matches and 1, only one, was with the BR. So disappointing. At least provide us with an option to exclude certain game modes from our searches, please.
Also bring back assassinations, and announcing Killjoys and stuff, please and thank you

I’ve lost hope. I submitted a support ticket in the hopes that it was an “accident” that they left these weapons in and got this response which is basically telling us to F off.
